Yet according to Wu Jun's account, as well as Luo Yuan's assessment relayed through her, that "Cloak" had already "become a 'gambling table'—and sitting down at it required the resolve to sell one's life and soul."
Luo Yuan also believed that the research direction of the "Cloak" project had directly or indirectly caused the experimental team to pay a terrible price, including Luo Yuandao's sanity and health, and Bu Qingwen's life.
This man's claims could not be disbelieved, but neither could they be wholly trusted.
Based on Luo Yuan's "account" of his experiences, Ronan suspected, to a limited degree, that "Cloak" had become deeply entwined with the "Balance of Truth"—that mysterious and unfathomable "Rebirth Divine Artifact." But this was still only speculation, without solid evidence.
