After dinner, Ronan chatted with Uncle and Aunt with a smile. This kind of superficial effort earned the unanimous scorn of Mo Ya and Mo Peng. But there was no helping it—such tactics only worked when Ronan used them. Lady Luo Shuqing fell for his act every time.
After much difficulty, they finally persuaded the two elders to go back to sleep. The four younger ones continued chatting in the living room for a while, listening to Mo Ya complain about the mess at her company and in the entertainment industry, and to Mo Peng gripe about his already ruined high school life. It was nearly midnight before Ronan finally got the chance to grab Raven and ask her about it.
"You went to Xi City? Why did you go to Xi City?"
"To deal with some dangerous targets."
"Those Humanoid Aberrant Species?"
Once Aberration Infected reached Phase Three, they were basically no longer human. Beyond that, there were no such terms as Phase Four or Phase Five; they were directly called "Aberrant Species." Very, very few of them could retain their sanity and humanoid form, while the sort of "Class A dangerous targets" Wen Huilan had mentioned were even rarer.
Only when a super metropolis like "Xi City" fell on a massive scale and at a massive rate could such extreme cases be produced in batches.
But that was not the point...
"What were you doing joining in on that?"
"The Foundation has a work site there. The situation was rather dangerous, so I went to help."
"Huh? The Foundation came to you?"
After exchanging a few more words, Ronan finally understood why this had happened. In the end, it was because the incident-response mechanism he had established when he went to the "Testing Time-Space" was still operating.
