October 21, 2097, Monday.
At eight in the morning, Uncle and Aunt went to work, while the miserable Mo Peng had to go to school. He had barely stepped outside before the cold sent him back in. Only after putting on an extra pair of thermal pants and a thick coat did he head out again, grumbling all the while.
As the boss, Mo Ya could be more willful. After her usual vocal practice with Raven, she lazily sprawled on the sofa chaise, planning to wait out the morning rush hour until the driver came to pick her up. More importantly, she had a commercial event to attend today and intended to bring Raven along.
Raven had no objection. At this stage, she could no longer attend school, so until Uncle and Aunt came up with an acceptable compromise, she was free to come and go as she pleased.
Ronan, likewise unemployed and on leave from school, could theoretically sleep in until the end of time. Yet he was the busiest of them all. He had gone another night without sleep, and the period ahead would surely mean dozens, perhaps hundreds, of hours working nonstop.
Working nonstop was not the problem. The problem was getting no results from it.
"Hey, why are you pulling such a long face so early in the morning? Did you blow all this cold air into the city?"
"When did I?" Ronan touched his own face and put on an innocent expression. "I even had two bowls for breakfast today... Raven, the seafood congee was good."
Raven, seated on the sofa as well, gave an "Mm." Then, under Ronan's stare, she added another sentence:
"Thanks, bro."
Mo Ya clicked her tongue. "You cooked it, and you still have to thank him? So whenever you do
