Shausedo stared ahead in astonishment and saw a massive Self-Propelled Mechanical Swarm advancing through the enormous passageway, heading straight toward him.
There were Engineering Vehicles with dozens of extended metal limbs, colossal things only two sizes smaller than the passageway itself. Vast numbers of Mechanical Crawlers poured from them, scuttling unhindered along the passageway's walls on all four sides. Wherever they passed, the coarse rock strata was ground apart, and holographic models were embedded directly into it. It was as though the passageway itself had reserved the necessary space; after a little clearing, cavities were exposed, and the machines that followed carried out construction according to the holographic models. Partitioning, beam installation, wiring, reinforcement—everything was completed in one smooth operation, forming different functional areas.
A considerable portion of each functional area remained empty, seemingly awaiting the arrival of further equipment.
As for why Shausedo could see everything so clearly, it was because the Self-Propelled Mechanical Swarm simply rolled toward him, carried out construction right before his eyes, and passed by his side as if he did not exist.
As though he were a ghost entirely detached from this world...
No, the Mechanical Crawlers had clearly gone around him instead of running straight over him.
The more that was the case, the more uneasy he became.
Earth probably could not achieve this level of engineering technology. He had spent nearly two months in the "Deep Blue World," and he believed Li Wei's side possessed such capabilities, but the style did not seem to match.
So what sort of force was this?
Those "Hunters" hidden within the "Thirteenth District," the "Outer Ring" of "The Other Side" Mora had mentioned?
But this did not seem right!
At a time like this, Shausedo would rather believe what he saw was merely an illusion cast
