The survivors from Zhengzhou had been at Home No. 1 Base for three days.
On the first day,
Home No. 1's logistics staff had built their dormitories and equipped them with drinking water, electricity, and toilets.
They worked incredibly fast,
allowing the survivors to transition seamlessly into life somewhere new.
They had not ended up homeless and adrift as they had imagined. It was very safe here.
So safe that... even the people from the Heavenly Net Zhengzhou Branch had visibly relaxed, as though staying here meant they no longer had to face the pressure of the zombie horde.
It really was rather strange.
There were also no problems whatsoever with the food they had worried about most.
Home No. 1 provided everything.
Meals for 500,000 people were all properly arranged.
This was not like disaster relief in ancient times, where two bowls of porridge a day were enough as long as they kept you from starving.
Home No. 1 offered combinations of various staple foods and side dishes.
Steamed buns, rice, corn cakes...
Tomatoes stir-fried with tomatoes, potatoes stewed with potatoes, Chinese yam mixed with sweet potatoes, and other specialties.
There were fresh vegetables every day!
The survivors from Zhengzhou were stunned.
It was not that they had never seen these vegetables. Back in Zhengzhou, they had planted some seasonal vegetables within their limited base grounds.
But their frequent relocations meant they had no reserves and could only plant crops that could be harvested quickly.
Their supply of seeds was limited, too.
All of them had been airdropped by Heavenly Net Headquarters, so they could only plant small quantities.
Without enough fertilizer, their vegetable yields were low.
Most of those vegetables went to frontline soldiers, who needed balanced nutrition to maintain their physical condition.
None ever reached these survivors.
