Chapter Summaries

Shen Jin learned that a horde of up to seventy thousand zombies was heading for Red Water Bay and had three days to decide whether to evacuate to the D City Shelter Settlement. He struggled to abandon the base he had built, began considering a way to fight back, and then heard that the horde was coming.

• Xia Anbang told Shen Jin that the Government had put his [Extractor] to use and warned him that a growing Zombie Horde was moving toward Red Water Bay.
• Xia Anbang offered to evacuate Shen Jin and his people to the D City Shelter Settlement, while urging him to decide within two days.
• Shen Jin considered the Government's offer but found it difficult to leave his base and its supplies behind.
• Shen Jin assessed the threats posed by evolved zombies and realized his defenses lacked effective ways to attack ground targets.
• Shen Jin began to devise a possible counterattack, but a Spider-Man in a Solar Helmet and carrying a Charging Station leaped over the wall and shouted that the Zombie Horde was coming.

Shen Jin decided to defend Red Water Bay Base against the seventy-thousand-zombie tide instead of evacuating, while preparing a fallback plan for ordinary residents. He recruited Zhu Dan, Shang Qian, and Zhao Chao to help, then began planning the base’s defenses.

• Shen Jin told Zhu Dan he would evacuate ordinary people but stay and fight the zombie tide, and Zhu Dan agreed to help.
• Shen Jin explained that destroying the tide could clear much of Lükou District, and Zhu Dan revealed he could fight ten ordinary Tier 1 strength-type Superhumans at once.
• Shen Jin noted that he had stockpiled three hundred special ability foods to boost his team’s combat strength.

• Shen Jin, Zhao Chao, Shang Qian, and Zhu Dan planned their defenses around Shen Jin’s powerful [TNT].
• Shen Jin ordered Zhao Chao and Shang Qian to evacuate more than a thousand people to his escape point by the following evening.
• Shen Jin asked Zhu Dan to enchant ten [Bows] so strength-based Superhumans could attack at range, and Zhu Dan agreed.
• Shen Jin gave Zhu Dan a rocket launcher to enchant, and Zhu Dan used his energy to add [Energy Enhancement] to it.
• Shen Jin gave Zhu Dan a Senzu Bean, which sped up Zhu Dan’s energy recovery, and Zhu Dan began enchanting a [Bow].

Zhu Dan discovered that a Senzu Bean could erase the painful side effects of an Energy Crystal Core, allowing him to enchant weapons repeatedly. Shen Jin recruited him to help prepare for the growing zombie threat, and Zhu Dan eagerly agreed to their ambitious plan to clear seventy thousand zombies.

• Zhu Dan used up his energy enchanting five bows, then swallowed an Energy Crystal Core and a Senzu Bean restored him from its violent side effects.
• Shen Jin realized he could use the beans and crystal cores to let Zhu Dan enchant far more equipment, and he brought him to the workshop.
• Zhu Dan warned Shen Jin that evolved zombies were becoming common and that ordinary people were in grave danger.
• Shen Jin described how ordinary people could flee to safety or awaken by consuming crystal cores, and Zhu Dan proposed they join forces to liberate the country.

Shen Jin used a new Enchanting Table to give Zhu Dan’s Spider-Man suit powerful protective enchantments, then learned Zhu Dan had never heard of Minecraft. Shen Jin suspected that gaining the Blockify Ability had erased Minecraft from the world, leaving him unsettled by its possible connection to the apocalypse.

• Shen Jin crafted an Enchanting Table and surrounded it with bookshelves so it could offer high-level enchantments.
• Shen Jin renamed Zhu Dan’s ability “Empowerment” and spent ten World Coins to enchant Zhu Dan’s Spider-Man suit.
• The suit gained Protection IV, Projectile Protection II, and Blast Protection I, and Zhu Dan found that its energy-enhanced fabric resisted force.
• Shen Jin asked Zhu Dan about Minecraft, but Zhu Dan said he had never heard of the game.

As Shen Jin prepared defenses against a horde of seventy thousand zombies, Shang Qian told Red Water Bay Base’s residents to evacuate. When Tong Zhen urged them to fight for their home, the residents volunteered to help, but Shang Qian and Zhao Chao sent them to prepare for evacuation while the Superhumans planned to face the horde.

• Shen Jin built more Compressors and generators, produced Compressed Cobblestone, and crafted TNT mines for the coming battle.
• Shang Qian announced that a horde of seventy thousand zombies would reach Red Water Bay Base in three days and said Shen Jin had prepared an escape route.

• Zhu Dan told Shen Jin that repeatedly exhausting and recovering his ability had increased his reserves and might help him reach Tier 2.
• Shen Jin enchanted his Diamond Sword with Zombie Killer V, Fire Aspect III, and Unbreaking I.

Shen Jin prepared Red Water Bay Base for a seventy-thousand-zombie horde, rallying his Superhumans to defend their home while Shang Qian coordinated their escape if needed. As the horde approached, D City's Superhuman Vanguard Team One arrived by helicopter to retrieve the Technology Special Ability User.

• Zhao Chao used his enhanced Laser Eyes to spot the approaching zombie horde, and Shen Jin sent him and Zhu Dan back to the Observation Line while he finished preparing the land mines.
• Shen Jin installed pressure plates on the TNT along the Front Line as Shang Qian cleared nearby stray zombies and promised to protect the group during the battle.
• Shen Jin briefed the twenty-four Superhumans on the horde, their weapons and supplies, and ordered Shang Qian to evacuate anyone who could no longer fight.

Shen Jin’s explosives devastated the advancing zombie horde, which stopped when night fell, and he prepared his people for the coming battle. Remembering Mo Xiao and the companions left behind, Shen Jin vowed to return to Q City and avenge them, while Shang Qian promised to fight by his side.

• Zhao Chao watched as pressure-triggered [TNT] charges blasted crowds of zombies at the entrances to Fragrant Sea Residential Community and Peaceful Coast Residential Community.
• Shen Jin learned that the horde kept advancing through the explosions, with Spitter Zombies feeding on the dead, and watched two hundred mines thin its ranks.
• When darkness fell, the zombie horde stopped moving, and Shen Jin had Zhao Chao organize night watches while he built rooms for the group to rest in.
• Shen Jin told Shang Qian that he regretted failing to protect Mo Xiao, Yang Ao, Old Fu, and Su Lele, and vowed to return to Q City and kill every zombie there.
• Shang Qian promised to fight beside Shen Jin, and they fell asleep together before the battle.

Haozi reconnoitered Red Water Bay Base and discovered that its defenders could use modern weapons, while Shen Jin’s forces fought off four M1 Zombies with energy arrows. The Big-Head Zombie began building a bridge of flesh across the pit, leaving the defenders to face a new threat.

• Haozi reported that the zombie horde was dormant, then watched the next morning as it advanced toward Red Water Bay Base and reported that the defenders were using explosives.
• Shen Jin and the others watched TNT devastate the advancing horde, but more zombies kept pressing toward the pit and wall.
• Four M1 Zombies leapt across the pit and charged the wall while the defenders fired energy arrows at them.
• Liu Yang and Miao Shubai struck the M1 Zombies with improvised energy attacks, and Zhu Dan taught the defenders to fire tracking arrows that knocked the attackers from the wall.
• Haozi reported that all twenty-four people defending the wall were Superhumans.
• Zhao Chao warned Shen Jin that the Big-Head Zombie was draining ordinary zombies and laying their flesh across the pit to make a bridge.

Shen Jin and the defenders at Red Water Bay fought off the zombie horde’s first attacks, destroying its flesh bridge and battling four M1 Zombies as the Z Zombie rebuilt the crossing. Shen Jin’s explosive round failed to harm the gigantic Bloated Zombie, leaving the defenders facing an overwhelming threat.

• Hu Shou watched the satellite feed, identified a Z Zombie leading the horde, and told Old Xia to observe rather than attack.
• Shen Jin’s team destroyed the Z Zombie’s flesh bridge with a volley of energy arrows, but the Z Zombie began rebuilding it.
• Shen Jin ordered Zhao Chao to burn the bridge and directed the others to stop four M1 Zombies climbing the wall.
• Zhu Dan, Liu Yang, Miao Shubai, and Zheng Ying prepared to repel the M1 Zombies as the bow users readied another volley.
• Zhao Chao ate the special ability Carrot and fired lasers at the growing bridge while Shen Jin launched a High-Explosive Round at the gigantic Bloated Zombie.
• The Bloated Zombie caught Shen Jin’s round in its palm and emerged nearly unharmed.

Shen Jin and the defenders used Empowerment Bows and explosives to repel the zombie horde, but the Big-Head Zombie sent flying Harpy Zombies carrying Super Evolved Zombies across the pit. Shen Jin’s gravity round and the squad’s energy arrows brought down all nine airborne attackers, though the battle continued.

• Zhu Dan and the defenders used Empowerment Bows to kill two M1 Zombies and knock the others from the wall.
• Shen Jin fired High-Explosive Rounds at the Big-Head Zombie and cut off the flesh it was absorbing, allowing Zhao Chao to destroy the remaining mass with his Laser Eyes.
• The Big-Head Zombie sent six evolved Harpy Zombies carrying six L1 Zombies across the pit, then brought out three enormous Spitter Zombies.
• Shen Jin fired a gravity round at the Harpy Zombies as they tried to carry the Spitter Zombies over the pit.
• The gravity round dragged the airborne zombies together, and the defenders’ energy arrows and its explosion sent all nine Super Evolved Zombies into the pit.

Haozi, Iron Fist, Xia Anbang, and Hu Shou learned that Shen Jin’s twenty-four special ability users had stopped the huge zombie horde without retreating. As the team finished off two M1 Zombies, the Big-Head Zombie activated its antennae and another M1 Zombie sprang up behind Zhu Dan, prompting Shen Jin to shout a warning.

• Haozi reported that Shen Jin’s team had pinned down the sixty-thousand-strong zombie horde without suffering injuries.
• Iron Fist told Xia Anbang that Shen Jin’s twenty-four special ability users had stopped the horde, and Xia passed the report to Hu Shou.
• Hu Shou confirmed through the satellite feed that the horde had made no progress and praised Red Water Bay Base’s hidden talent.
• Zhu Dan webbed the wounded M1 Zombie and killed it by driving a spider leg through its skull.
• Miao Shubai trapped the other M1 Zombie with air walls while Zheng Ying froze it, but Liu Yang smashed the ice sculpture before they could preserve it for Shen Jin to study.
• The Big-Head Zombie’s feelers extended into antennae, and the M1 Zombie Zhu Dan had killed sprang up behind him as Shen Jin shouted a warning.

Shen Jin and his allies fought zombies that had been revived by the Big-Head Zombie, then used Shang Qian’s teleportation ability to drop lit [TNT] above it. The explosion stopped the horde, leaving the Big-Head Zombie’s fate unclear in the smoke.

• A headless M1 Zombie and a flaming M1 Zombie revived, but Zhu Dan, Miao Shubai, Zheng Ying, the Zombie Slaying Squad, and Liu Yang destroyed them again.
• Shen Jin warned Shang Qian and Zhao Chao that the Big-Head Zombie could revive brain-dead zombies, and they planned to attack its feelers.
• Zhao Chao fired his laser at the Big-Head Zombie’s feelers while Shen Jin lit [TNT] and Shang Qian teleported them above the target.
• Shen Jin dropped the [TNT], and Shang Qian teleported them back as the six L1 Zombies battered the wall without breaking it.
• The explosion engulfed the Big-Head Zombie, halted the zombie horde, and sent the Harpy Zombies and Spitter Zombies crashing into the pit.

Shen Jin and the Zombie Slaying Squad discovered that the Z-Type Zombie had survived the blast and was regenerating behind the T1 Bloated Zombie’s protective energy barrier. Shen Jin used his enchanted Diamond Sword to destroy the Big-Head Zombie, then Shang Qian carried him back to the platform as he collapsed.

• Zhao Chao and the squad celebrated after the Z-Type Zombie’s head was blown off, but Haozi and Zhao Chao spotted it absorbing energy and regenerating.
• Zhao Chao, Shen Jin, and Zhu Dan attacked the reviving Z-Type Zombie, while Harpy Zombies intercepted most of their projectiles and the T1 Bloated Zombie’s black membrane shielded it.
• Shen Jin swallowed a Giant Sausage, transformed, and ordered Shang Qian to transport him above the Big-Head Zombie.
• Shen Jin charged his Empowered Diamond Sword with his and Zhu Dan’s energy, then sliced through the protective barrier, the zombie’s defenses, and the Big-Head Zombie itself.
• The sword strike also severed the T1 Bloated Zombie’s left arm, and Shang Qian transported the collapsing Shen Jin back to the platform.

Shen Jin and his allies destroyed the Z Zombie’s body, but it resurrected and led the Zombie Horde into a renewed assault. As six Evolved Harpy Zombies attacked the wall, Zhao Chao spotted the Z Zombie rebuilding itself and firing flesh to form three bridges.

• Shen Jin and Zhu Dan obliterated the Z Zombie’s severed body, while Haozi reported their abilities and apparent victory to Captain Iron Fist and Xia Anbang.
• Hu Shou told Xia Anbang that the Z Zombie would resurrect and retaliate, and Xia Anbang suspected Shen Jin was a rare dual-ability user.
• The Z Zombie revived, the Horde resumed moving, and six Evolved Harpy Zombies carried Spitter Zombies out of the pit and flew toward the wall.
• Shen Jin gave out Senzu Beans and ordered six strength-type Superhumans to eat big sausages and fight the Harpies after their tracking arrows failed.
• Zhao Chao found the Z Zombie inside a Bloated Zombie as it absorbed flesh and formed three bridges, then the Zombie Horde charged.

Shen Jin and his allies destroyed the Flesh Bridge and fought off the horde’s flying Harpy Zombies, while mysterious visitors arrived overhead. As the remaining zombies tore at the wall, Shen Jin triggered a nuclear attack.

• Shen Jin and Zhao Chao failed to destroy the Flesh Bridge with their initial attacks, so Shen Jin and Shang Qian dropped five blocks of [TNT] and blew it apart.
• A Taoist, a hip-hop-clad man, and a woman arrived on a giant eagle, identified the battle site, and watched from above.
• Six Harpy Zombies attacked the defenders, but Zhu Dan immobilized them with his Infinity Gauntlet while the strength-based fighters decapitated and dismembered them.
• The remaining zombie horde and six L1 zombies joined forces to smash the wall as Shen Jin prepared a nuclear strike.
• Shen Jin pressed a remote, and a massive explosion struck the battlefield.

Shen Jin and the defenders of Red Water Bay Base fought the Z Zombie’s growing Flesh Bridges until they devised a plan to bring the Big-Head Zombie within reach and disrupt the horde’s control. After the team’s final empowered attacks crippled the Giant Bloated Zombie, Shen Jin and Shang Qian severed the Big-Head Zombie’s arms and teleported it onto the wall.

• Shen Jin’s group recovered their energy and attacked seven Flesh Bridges while the Z Zombie supplied them with flesh and energy.
• Liu Yang used a Big Banana to transform into a Stone Rubber-Body Giant and smashed the Harpy Zombies threatening the wall.
• As the defenders’ energy and empowered weapons ran low, Zhu Dan proposed luring the zombies into the pit by bringing the Big-Head Zombie close to death and disrupting its control.
• Shang Qian boosted her space-based ability with a Carrot while the defenders fired their last empowered arrows and Zhu Dan attacked the Giant Bloated Zombie.
• After the Giant Bloated Zombie collapsed, Zhu Dan’s M87 Ray cut into the Big-Head Zombie’s left arm as Shen Jin severed its right arm.
• Shang Qian teleported herself, Shen Jin, and the disarmed Big-Head Zombie onto the wall.

Shen Jin and his allies destroyed the seventy-thousand-strong Zombie Horde with a massive TNT explosion and finished off the remaining zombies. Shen Jin killed the regenerating Big-Head Zombie and obtained a World Line.

• Liu Yang repeatedly smashed the Big-Head Zombie's head while the rest of the horde poured into Shen Jin's pit.
• Shen Jin triggered one thousand TNT blocks, wiping out the Zombie Horde in a huge explosion.
• Hip-Hop Man, the Daoist, and Bangs Girl noticed someone hiding at sea and flew toward them on the giant eagle.
• Haozi reported the explosion and the zombies' disappearance to Iron Fist, while the survivors celebrated Red Water Bay Base's victory.
• Shen Jin's group killed the six remaining L1 zombies and searched the area for survivors.
• Shen Jin rejected Zhu Dan's suggestion to donate the regenerating Big-Head Zombie to the Government, killed it with a Diamond Sword, and received a World Line.
