Background
Early life
Skofot awakens as a seven-year-old in a musty wooden crate, initially overwhelmed by hunger and unfamiliar with his smaller body. The Role-Playing System identifies him as a transmigrated soul and grants him a new identity: Skofot Tom Leoqi 2.
For years, he survives in the neglected corners of Knockturn Alley, using an abandoned attic as shelter. At age ten, he uses the Leader card's Majesty to frighten two men into releasing a child; the encounter also establishes Emotion Points as a resource gained from others' emotional reactions 2.
By eleven, Skofot has acquired and hidden an old-fashioned handgun for self-defense. He draws Rabbit Rhymer shortly before receiving his Hogwarts letter, leaving him physically weak and especially vulnerable to predatory attention in Knockturn Alley 2 3.
Hogwarts
Skofot enters Hogwarts under Professor McGonagall's supervision and is sorted into Slytherin. He quickly identifies Professor Snape as a valuable, low-risk source of Emotion Points, deliberately using his cards and acting ability to provoke the professor's suspicion, anger, concern, and confusion 6 11 22.
His apparent weakness is frequently manufactured. He switches between vulnerable and threatening presentations, deliberately injures himself to mislead Snape and Madam Pomfrey, and uses tears, fear, and exhaustion as tools to redirect scrutiny 23 24 75.
The Mirror of Erised reveals a desire Skofot does not consciously acknowledge: a warm home and a blurred but loving family. The sight leaves him genuinely bewildered, as his usual detachment gives way to an unguarded longing for belonging 33.
Training and the *Prisoners*
After his first year, Skofot uses Training Cards to spend three years in a magical training space while little real-world time passes. He develops advanced spellcasting, rune knowledge, Dark Magic proficiency, and control over his Magic Power, but the prolonged isolation and repeated killing of rabbits leave him more ruthless and emotionally detached 53 54.
In America, he uses Loyalty Cards to recruit Dark Wizards, gang leaders, and officials into the Prisoners. Within three weeks, the organization reaches nearly a thousand members and controls much of the local underground trade; its members are trained in Dark Magic and the Unforgivable Curses 55.
Skofot later expands the organization with more than a thousand additional Loyalty Cards, spreading its influence through the American wizarding world. The group infiltrates MACUSA through controlled staff and officials, and later begins targeting key positions within the British Ministry of Magic 106 145.
By his third year, Skofot no longer fully conceals his connection to Prisoners, identifying its American headquarters as his guardian's home and issuing commands to Dragon Child in front of Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Snape 143.
Appearance
Skofot is a black-haired, pale-faced boy with gray eyes and a thin build. During his early Hogwarts years, he commonly wears oversized, secondhand black robes, reinforcing the fragile image produced by Rabbit Rhymer 2 33 129.
- Black hair and pale complexion 33
- Gray or dark gray eyes 129 209
- Initially thin and underfed from his life in Knockturn Alley 2
- His bearing and apparent aura change sharply according to his equipped card, ranging from fragile and timid to coldly authoritative 7 64
- Uses a black crystal cane while presenting himself as the English Gentleman persona 206 207
Personality
Skofot is calculating, observant, and highly willing to manipulate other people's emotions for Emotion Points, information, protection, or freedom of movement. He routinely treats fear, sympathy, embarrassment, and outrage as resources, often choosing elaborate performances over direct confrontation 6 23 100.
He adapts his demeanor to his circumstances. Rabbit Rhymer enables an appearance of forced bravery and helplessness; Leader gives him controlled authority; Scavenger makes him colder, more exhausted, and sometimes more openly violent. Skofot publicly describes these states as parts of himself, claiming that he can sometimes choose them and sometimes cannot 2 142 156.
Despite his cruelty and detachment, Scavenger's Kindness to All Beings effect produces a distinct gentleness toward animals and magical creatures. He befriends laboratory rats, earns Emotion Points from non-human creatures, calms a Hungarian Horntail, and is approached peacefully by unicorns 178 200 203.
Abilities & Skills
Role-Playing System
Skofot's central power is the Role-Playing System, which converts emotional reactions into Emotion Points. He spends these points on card draws, System-shop items, and other abilities 2 53.
- Card draws originally cost 100 Emotion Points 2
- Only one character card may be equipped at once; a first-time card equip must last one full week 2
- Later card availability is determined by the cohesion and quality of accumulated Emotion Points rather than a fixed cooldown 20
- The System shop provides items such as Teleport Cards, Loyalty Cards, potions, clones, attribute points, and forbidden materials 45 53 129 248
- Skofot can gain Emotion Points from non-human creatures as well as people 178
Card personas
Skofot uses cards to alter both his capabilities and the way others perceive him.
- Leader — Projects Majesty and an intimidating political aura; its initial drawback is fear of darkness 2.
- Rabbit Rhymer — Produces fragility and affinity toward kind people, but weakens his body and can draw unwanted attention from predators 2 3.
- Scavenger — Grants Killing Intent and later survival-oriented traits, including Magic Suppression, affinity with living beings, and temporary post-death revival 10 86.
- Worry Master — Enables remote control through personal branding 145.
- Crystal Coffin — Makes him conspicuously desirable to factions and allows inheritance through Fatal Mark, but imposes dependence and vulnerability 229.
Teleportation
Skofot uses Teleport Cards to relocate instantly, repeatedly escaping confinement and appearing in guarded locations.
- Teleport Cards cost five Emotion Points in the System shop 53.
- He teleports away from Snape's interrogation room despite its isolation 100.
- His movement bypasses Hogwarts' Anti-Disapparition protections, alarming Dumbledore and McGonagall 103 104.
- He can use the ability to travel between Hogwarts and Prisoners headquarters in North America 200.
Magical combat
After his training-space years, Skofot becomes an unusually capable combatant with extensive Dark Magic knowledge and strong practical spellcasting.
- Studied advanced spells, runes, dangerous magic, and the Unforgivable Curses in the training space 54.
- Demonstrates wandless spellcasting, including Incarcerous 157.
- Uses wandless, nonverbal magic to send a Prisoners distress signal 279.
- In Scavenger state, his Magic Power is described as comparable to Snape's during their Forbidden Forest duel 171.
- Combines efficient spellwork with close-quarters strikes, joint locks, takedowns, and disarming techniques 171 172 200.
Physical enhancement
Skofot possesses strength, speed, and reaction time far beyond those of an ordinary student.
- Purchased 139 Strength Attribute Points from the System 45.
- Can lift Draco Malfoy one-handedly and restrain him with little effort 45.
- His Scavenger-state strength allows him to overpower adult opponents in close combat 171 172.
- Snape considers his reaction speed and instinctive evasiveness dangerous enough to require forced sedation and binding 169.
Loyalty Cards and organizational control
Loyalty Cards permanently create absolute loyalty in a target, though unusually strong willpower or much greater Magic Power can weaken or defeat the effect 53 106.
- Built Prisoners by recruiting and controlling Dark Wizards, gang leaders, officials, and intermediaries 55.
- Uses controlled members to infiltrate MACUSA and influence official operations 55.
- Orders core members to train recruits in the Imperius Curse and other Unforgivable Curses 106.
- Successfully uses a Loyalty Card on a Niffler and attempts to extend control to Welsh Green Dragons 106.
Clones and Animagus form
Skofot can purchase and mentally direct fully simulated, absolutely obedient clones 129.
- Dragon Child — A tall, silver-masked clone created as a Prisoners leader and recipient of Skofot's commands 129 143.
- Su Ka Yi Liang — A clone configured with multiple character-card traits and sent to cause chaos in France 229.
- Skofot can assume the Animagus form of a giant bat 248.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Old-fashioned handgun — Acquired through underground channels and hidden in his Knockturn Alley attic before Hogwarts 2.
- Wand — Used alongside wandless casting in combat 171.
- Black crystal cane — Used by the English Gentleman persona; channels a faint flow of Magic Power 206.
- Firebolt — Received as a Slytherin gift 128.
- Prisoner Mask — Silver mask used in Dragon Child's construction and associated with Prisoners leadership 71 129.
- Teleport Cards — Instantaneous long-distance travel items 53 100.
- Restoration Potions — System-bought drinks with minor restorative effects; Skofot uses one to mislead Snape 27 71.
Relationships
- Severus Snape — Skofot's most persistent adversarial relationship. Skofot repeatedly provokes, deceives, escapes, and studies Snape for Emotion Points, while Snape attempts to investigate, restrain, and understand his shifting states 11 100 169 172.
- Albus Dumbledore — Dumbledore recognizes that Skofot's varied abilities likely come from a single hidden source and treats him as a dangerous mystery requiring restraint rather than simple punishment 104 173.
- Minerva McGonagall — Initially protects Skofot when he appears vulnerable, but becomes increasingly suspicious and unsettled by his unpredictable appearances and conduct 4 131 158.
- Draco Malfoy — Draco is initially drawn into a protective, possessive attitude by Rabbit Rhymer's aura. Their relationship later becomes dominated by Skofot's physical intimidation, though Skofot also comforts Draco after Fake Moody tortures him 8 45 160.
- Harry Potter — Skofot seeks out Harry on the Hogwarts Express and later appears during the Chamber of Secrets incident. Harry remains wary of Skofot's motives but receives occasional unexpected help or encouragement from him 7 103 195.
- Molly Weasley — After suffering severe injuries in America, Skofot teleports to the Burrow and uses Rabbit Rhymer's vulnerability to gain Molly's care and protection 56.
- Dragon Child — Skofot's clone and a leading figure within Prisoners, obeying his commands from a distance 129 143.
- Remus Lupin — Lupin becomes alarmed after Skofot reveals knowledge of his Marauder past and shows him a vanishing human eyeball 128.
Trivia
- Skofot's deepest desire, as shown by the Mirror of Erised, is not power but a warm home and an indistinct family 33.
- He calls the Scavenger state “Scavenger” rather than treating it as a simple codename 123.
- His early Fear of Darkness debuff remains active for at least three years after he first draws Leader 2.
- He first discovers that animals can generate Emotion Points when interacting with rats under Scavenger's Kindness to All Beings effect 178.
