During yard time, Guchuan lay on the lawn in a standard-issue prison uniform, basking in the sun.
The sunlight was perfect, and Guchuan let out a comfortable yawn.
"Brother, you just got here, didn't you?"
A fierce-looking Baldy walked over to Guchuan and warmly patted him on the shoulder.
"Yeah, I got in yesterday." Guchuan warmly struck up a conversation with him as well.
He was someone who liked making friends. Being alone would bore him to death.
"How'd you get in here, brother?" Baldy asked.
"I was framed. They said I illegally possessed a firearm. It was a complete setup," Guchuan said indignantly.
Baldy seemed infected by Guchuan's outrage and joined him in condemning the police.
"This ** is going to be finished sooner or later. All kinds of criminals get dragged in here for all sorts of ridiculous reasons."
"What did you get arrested for, big brother?" Guchuan asked curiously.
"A cold." Baldy sighed.
"?" Guchuan was confused.
Were Japan's laws really this strict? Even catching a cold was illegal?
"I sneezed while I was stealing something and woke up the security guard." Baldy scratched his scalp sheepishly.
Guchuan and Baldy's conversation drew a crowd of prisoners, and they began talking about why they had ended up here. Only Skinny Pole remained silent, so Guchuan curiously went over to ask him.
"Brother, how did you get in here?"
"Rape."
The prisoners were instantly stunned, and their expressions turned hostile as they looked at Skinny Pole.
"Damn! You're the kind of criminal I despise most!"
"Being locked up with you is an insult to us!"
"I suggest we physically castrate him, without anesthetic," Baldy said furiously.
"That's too inhumane. I suggest we only anesthetize his tongue, so he can't scream loud enough to disturb the doctors," Guchuan offered humanely.
