Background / History

The Breaking Clan was one of the Clear Sky Sect's four single-attribute affiliated clans. Representing the Yang family, it pursued piercing power and offense to the extreme through the Soul Breaking Spear, while developing advanced alchemy as a secondary specialty. Among the four clans, it was regarded as the strongest offensively and as having comparatively few exploitable weaknesses. 112 158 672

When the Clear Sky Sect fled from Spirit Hall, it abandoned its affiliated forces—including the Four Single Attribute Clans—to protect its own hiding place. The Breaking Clan lost roughly one-third of its nearly 300 members during the subsequent pursuit, though its alchemy prevented further deaths from untreated injuries. 150 158

Yang Wudi led the surviving clan toward Heavenly Path territory, but Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo intercepted him. He was severely injured while fighting the two Titled Douluo. Yang Wuhui, Ye Wen's disciple and a member of the Yang family, arrived with Ye Wen's Sage's Emblem; after confirming that Ye Wen had accepted the clan as an affiliate, the Spirit Hall forces withdrew. 159

The clan settled in an allocated district of Heavenly Path Town. After Yang Wushuang returned safely, Yang Wudi declared the Breaking Clan's allegiance to Ye Wen. Ye Wen assigned its members to high-end medicine refinement for the Heavenly Path Medical Hall rather than academy security, which was already handled by the Body Sect. 159 161

During Ye Wen's expansion of the Medical Alliance, Yang Wudi initially refused to join another major force, citing the clan's experience of betrayal by the Clear Sky Sect and its desire for neutrality. Ye Wen persuaded him by outlining the risks posed by war, Spirit Hall's hidden strength, and the clan's reliance on Yang Wudi as its sole Soul Douluo. Yang Wudi ultimately accepted Ye Wen's vision and formally joined the Medical Alliance on the clan's behalf. 865 866 867 869

The clan's inherited Tool Martial Soul is the Soul Breaking Spear, a weapon specialized for extreme piercing and direct offense.
