Protection of Gu Fei and Xun'er

When Gu Fei and Xun'er secretly left the Gu Realm, the clan's higher-ups allowed them to seek experience rather than forcing them to remain in its sheltered environment. They separately dispatched elders to protect both youths in secret. 64

This protection became explicit when a Gu Clan elder intervened against Mu Gu the Elder and Star Picker Old Ghost, killing both and revealing that he had been secretly guarding Gu Fei. 104

Bloodline-Purity Dispute

Gu Fei's intention to marry Xiao Yi Xian sparked opposition from senior elders concerned that an outsider would dilute the Gu Clan bloodline. Gu Fei answered that he would become a Dou Di and renew the clan's bloodline; Gu Lie backed him, ending the immediate dispute. 109

Escalation with the Soul Clan

The Gu Clan's relations with the Soul Clan deteriorated sharply after Gu Fei openly admitted to killing Hun Ya and Hun Li, then killed the Half-Saint elder Hun Xia within Gu Clan territory. Gu Fei declared that the Gu Clan did not fear war with the Soul Clan. 208

Gu Fei's Appointment

After the Soul Clan's initial defeat, Gu Yang attempted to abduct Gu Fei's children as leverage. Cai'er stopped and injured him, prompting a full-scale pursuit by the Black Annihilation Army. 322

Gu Yang later revealed that the real Gu Yang had died centuries earlier and that Lord Void had forcibly fused a Soul Clan soul with his body. 324
