In the darkness, a rustling voice muttered quietly to itself, occasionally accompanied by eerie giggles that made one's scalp tingle.
"Hehe, Rinnegan."
"Corpses. Impure World Reincarnation."
"Hanzo of the Salamander. Salamander Shinda. Hehehe."
"Madara Uchiha. Peaches."
"Konoha."
The long night passed, and dawn once again spilled over the earth.
Early in the morning, Rinto emerged from the inn clutching his head, looking as though he had a terrible hangover and wearing an utterly miserable expression.
Behind him, Earth Dog, wearing a dog-head mask, stumbled along after him.
Earth Dog's orders were to monitor, protect, and stop Rinto from doing anything unwise.
And as for whether he had done any of that last night, he had no idea.
Simply put, he had amnesia. Though he did not know what had happened last night, every instinct and premonition in his body was screaming at him: Don't think! Never think about it!
And as someone who knew how to follow his heart and was a little cowardly, he naturally decided that he would not think about anything.
Rinto, walking ahead, turned to look at Earth Dog. "Dog Brother."
Before he could finish, Earth Dog violently jumped back two steps and swiftly covered his eyes.
"Y-you-you, don't turn around! Don't make that turning-your-head motion! I'm fucking scared!" Earth Dog shrieked.
Rinto's face immediately darkened.
Damn it, this bastard was scared just because I turned my head? Still, that high note was pretty impressive!
After calming Earth Dog down for the moment, Rinto brought him to a grimy noodle shop.
"Ahem. Boss, two bowls of Tonkotsu Ramen."
Beside him, Earth Dog tremblingly tugged on the owner's sleeve and weakly added, "Boss, I don't want meat. No fish, no pork, none of that!"
"Got it."
The noodles were served soon enough.
"Thanks for the meal!"
