Background

Transmigration and the Jashin Cult

Rinto was a salesman in his previous life before awakening in the body of a young child inside a dark cage with other sacrificial children. He quickly recognized that he had entered the world of Naruto and relied on his adult composure to survive. 1

The Jashin Cult used him in a sacrificial ritual that granted him Immortality. Rather than freeing him, the cult subjected him to repeated experiments alongside other captives, hoping to understand his regenerative body. Rinto endured torture, cultivated an image as the Evil God’s avatar, manipulated guards into trusting him, and smuggled a cell key inside his abdomen to escape. 2

Later information indicates that the body Rinto transmigrated into had belonged to the Third Kazekage’s son, who was abducted by the Jashin Cult. Rinto concluded that his immortality originated from an unknown “seed” implanted by the cult’s god, Jashin. 351 352

Amegakure and the Sakuta Name

After escaping the cult, Rinto reached Amegakure and became Hanzo of the Salamander’s nominal disciple. Special Jonin Sakuta Mizuguma became his actual instructor and one of the first people with whom Rinto formed a genuine bond. 6 7

Rinto deliberately concealed his abilities from Hanzo, including his Magnet Release and abnormal chakra extraction, by acting lazy, gluttonous, and talentless. 7 8

While traveling through the Land of Hot Water, Rinto discovered an Amegakure shinobi’s massacre of a family. He killed the perpetrator, Ono Buta, then accepted the dying mother’s request to protect her daughter, Rie. He took Mizuguma’s surname for himself and gave it to Rie, becoming Sakuta Rinto and Sakuta Rie. 15

Konoha Infiltration

Hanzo sent Rinto to infiltrate Konohagakure in order to protect Mizuguma. Rinto constructed a convincing false identity as a blacksmith family survivor and entered Konoha with Rie. 17 44

Hiruzen Sarutobi uncovered his background during an Intelligence Division interrogation. Rinto admitted his connection to Amegakure, explained why he killed Ono Buta, and identified Mizuguma as his teacher, friend, and bond. 17

Rather than abandon Rie or become Konoha’s hostage, Rinto sought a place where he could protect those important to him. He attended the Ninja School, befriended Jiraiya, and displayed physical strength that frightened both classmates and Konoha officials. 23 24 29
