Alice looked down at the ruins of the city, and the image of Raccoon City before the apocalypse could not help surfacing in her mind. The once bustling little city was now utterly unrecognizable, completely reduced to a land of death!
Neither of them spoke inside the aircraft. Chen Mo glanced at the remains of a circular building on the edge of the crater, then landed the aircraft on a flat stretch at the bottom.
The two stepped out of the aircraft. Alice looked around at the enormous crater surrounding them and could not help asking Chen Mo.
"How do we get in?"
Chen Mo turned to look at an opening in the crater wall not far away and said.
"That's one of The Hive's ventilation shafts. It was exposed by the explosion. We'll enter through there!"
Alice followed Chen Mo's gaze and quickly spotted the passage in the cliff wall. Part of it was obscured by fallen rubble from above, making it far from conspicuous.
The two immediately set off, striding toward the opening.
Meanwhile, in a room on the lowest level of The Hive—the most secure room within it—a stern, imposing middle-aged man dressed in a pure black shirt and suit poked at the ice in an ice bucket with a crushed-ice pick as he gave a low command.
"Activate security monitoring!"
On the display screen covering the entire wall before him were Chen Mo and Alice, who had just gotten off the aircraft and were heading toward the passage!
"The Hive security system has been fully activated and entered automatic operation!"
The one answering him was a little girl seated at one end of the table!
