By the end of 2024, a total of forty-six Kaiju attacks had occurred, fourteen of them in 2024 alone. They had not only caused enormous destruction and casualties, but also created an irreparable funding shortfall for The Jaeger Program.
Faced with such immense losses, humanity had been forced to shut down every Jaeger base except Hong Kong and begin building sturdy "Anti-Monster Walls" as a purely defensive measure.
In 2025, the Category 4 Kaiju "Virus" came ashore in Sydney Bay and breached the "Anti-Monster Wall" in less than an hour. Although it was ultimately killed by Australia's fifth-generation Jaeger, Eureka Striker, people began to question the wall's reliability.
As the Kaiju continued to grow stronger, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps decided to recall the third-generation Jaeger Gipsy Danger and bring back Raleigh Beckett, who had been missing for seven years, to serve as its pilot.
After a selection process, Mako Mori, the adopted daughter of Pan Pacific Defense Corps Commander General Stacker Pentecost, became Raleigh's new partner. During their first synchronization test, Mako's neural connection failed, and she nearly destroyed the base.
Soon after, the Category 4 Kaiju "Otachi" and "Leatherback" landed in Hong Kong and engaged China's Jaeger Crimson Typhoon in battle. Russia's Jaeger Cherno Alpha was unfortunately lost, while the fifth-generation Jaeger Eureka Striker was paralyzed by the Kaiju's electromagnetic pulse attack. Gipsy Danger deployed on short notice and defeated the invading Kaiju one by one.
In that battle, every Jaeger apart from Eureka Striker and Gipsy Danger was destroyed.
After the battle in Hong Kong, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps decided to immediately carry out the Breach destruction operation.
In the deep sea, Gipsy Danger killed the Category 4 Kaiju "Raiju." Eureka Striker self-destructed, perishing together with the Category 4 Kaiju "Scunner" while severely wounding the Category
