Two missiles flew past Gipsy Danger and headed for the helicopter carrying Mako Mori behind it.
Because the helicopter was flying backward, the first missile struck a building behind it and exploded, but failed to damage the helicopter.
However, although the second missile that followed also missed the helicopter, it struck the building beside it. Violent flames erupted from the building, enveloping the helicopter!
Inside Gipsy Danger, Jack heard the explosion behind him as well. He quickly turned around and immediately saw the helicopter shrouded in fire.
Jack's expression changed drastically, and he shouted in panic.
"Mako's been hit!"
The flames quickly dissipated. The helicopter was still airborne, but black smoke was rising from the engine on top, and its altitude began to drop continuously.
Although the missile that exploded in the building had failed to destroy the helicopter directly, the blast wave had damaged its engine.
A piercing alarm sounded inside the helicopter. Though the pilot struggled to control it, its lift continued to diminish, and the helicopter began to plummet out of control!
