Gipsy Danger failed to catch the crashing aircraft just now, and Mako Mori had thought she was doomed. Yet as the ground drew closer and closer, the helicopter was suddenly caught by a powerful force and stopped in midair.
Although the helicopter's abrupt change in posture left her hanging in the air, the safety belt painfully digging into her body, after her initial shock, Mako Mori could not help but feel the joy of having escaped death.
The helicopter pilot, who had already given up hope, was equally stunned when he felt the fall suddenly stop. Though he had been calling for help, it had merely been an instinctive reaction; he had not truly held out much hope. Now that the helicopter had really been caught, he was instead filled with disbelief.
But he quickly came to his senses and shouted excitedly.
"The helicopter's been caught! This is amazing! God! We're saved!"
Mako Mori was not as excited as he was. As a former ace Jaeger pilot, she considered far more than the pilot did.
Logically, Gipsy Danger should have been the only one capable of saving them. But Gipsy Danger had clearly failed to catch the helicopter and had fallen to the ground. She knew very well that, at Gipsy Danger's speed, it was impossible for it to get up and catch the helicopter in such a short time.
Could a supporting Jaeger have arrived?
Hanging upside down inside the helicopter cabin by her safety belt, Mako Mori strained to raise her head and look outside through the window, trying to find the Jaeger that had caught the helicopter and saved her.
Yet aside from Gipsy Danger lying motionless in the distance, Mako Mori saw no sign of any other Jaeger.
No other Jaeger?
Mako Mori furrowed her brow
