The plaza in front of PPDC headquarters was still a mess from the previous attack. Shards of glass, broken walls, and all sorts of debris littered the ground.
The reporters and protesters who had originally gathered in the plaza had scattered during the attack. Later, when the emergency meeting was convened, the area around the venue was placed under martial law. At this moment, apart from Gipsy Danger and the PPDC soldiers standing guard, there was no one else in the plaza.
Inside Gipsy Danger's cockpit, Jack kept watch on the surroundings, staying alert for another attack while occasionally lowering his head to glance at the entrance of the building beside him.
Everyone else had already left, but Mako Mori and the others had yet to come out.
Just as Jack was beginning to grow anxious, the automatic doors on the ground floor slowly opened. A tall, imposing figure emerged from the building, flanked by two mature and frosty "female secretaries" and surrounded by a group of elite bodyguards in black suits.
At first, Jack thought he was some high-ranking committee official, but when he spotted Mako Mori, he could not help freezing.
His gaze swept across the group, and he realized that aside from Mako Mori, Liwen Shao, and the bodyguards, Chen Mo was nowhere to be seen in his Iron Man suit.
In the end, Jack's eyes settled on the figure at the front. Could that be him?
Other than Chen Mo, Jack could not think of anyone who could make Mako Mori and Liwen Shao willingly walk behind him like subordinates.
He still remembered Liwen Shao's aloof attitude when she had arrived at Moyulan Base.
