"I was nearby earlier."
Star-Lord brushed him off casually, then remembered the group he had encountered on Morag and could not help adding,
"I solved a big problem for you!"
Yondu ignored Star-Lord's words and demanded angrily,
"Where the hell are you now, boy?!"
Star-Lord was not foolish enough to tell Yondu where he was, so he replied bluntly and without courtesy,
"I'm sorry, but I don't plan on telling you."
Yondu was thoroughly enraged by him, until Star-Lord said angrily,
"I went through hell to make the connection for you!"
"Through hell?"
Faced with Yondu's fury, Star-Lord said dismissively,
"Making a few phone calls counts as going through hell? Seriously?"
Star-Lord had already lost count of how many times he had betrayed Yondu. He had long grown accustomed to Yondu's anger and was nowhere near as afraid of him as the other Colonisers were.
"You're trying to screw me over again?"
Yondu looked at the utterly unconcerned Star-Lord and felt that the brat was trying to set him up again. Yet instead of growing angrier, he spoke to him with a solemn expression.
"That's not how we do things! We're Colonisers! We have our principles!"
Star-Lord did not take Yondu's words to heart at all and immediately shot back without hesitation,
"Our principle is: if we can take it, we take it!"
After Star-Lord repeatedly talked back to him, Yondu neither got angry nor continued lecturing him about following the Colonisers' rules. Instead, he said gravely with a serious expression,
"When I picked you up from Earth..."
Hearing Yondu bring up the old story again, Star-Lord helplessly turned his head away, curled his lips dismissively, and muttered,
"Picked me up~"
As if he had not noticed Star-Lord's little gesture, Yondu continued like an adult trying to scare a child.
