There were only a few hundred HYDRA soldiers in the entire base, most of them inside the main building. Caught off guard, quite a few of the HYDRA soldiers outside were swiftly taken down by Steve and the Allied prisoners who had suddenly rushed out.

By the time Baron Strucker in the control room noticed something was wrong and sounded the alarm, large numbers of HYDRA soldiers had begun pouring out of the base building.

Steve was an overwhelmingly powerful force on the prisoners' side. He charged straight through the hail of bullets, the longsword in his hand rapidly reaping HYDRA soldiers' lives. More and more prisoners got their hands on weapons as well, so they were not at a disadvantage in terms of firepower. The two sides were evenly matched as a fierce battle broke out around the perimeter of the base.

As the Allied prisoners seized the unattended tanks and Armored Cars parked in the open, the situation outside began tilting even further in Steve's favor. HYDRA soldiers rushing out of the base building were continually cut down by their own weapons.

Tank shells exploded across the ground, effortlessly tearing apart the trucks and walls they struck. Fragments of corpses sprayed everywhere, leaving behind only patches of blazing fire.

Machine-gun bullets ripped through the night sky, harvesting HYDRA soldiers one after another. HYDRA's losses grew increasingly severe, and they began to be completely suppressed by Steve's side.

When Baron Strucker realized the situation had spiraled out of control, his expression darkened. He slammed his fist down hard on the console.

"Damn it! How did these people get out?"

Faced with Baron Strucker's furious questioning, the Bomb Factory Director remained silent as a cicada in winter.
