Background / History

Zhu Ningyun first aided Lu Ming when he was a destitute beggar outside Shuofeng City, ordering someone to give him a package that helped him survive and begin his path in martial arts. Lu Ming later recognizes her at the Wuji Sect’s Inner Sect Grand Competition registration and thanks her personally. Their renewed acquaintance quickly becomes a close friendship 45.

Her exceptional cultivation talent made her widely known within and beyond the Wuji Sect, drawing the attention of the rival Nine Heavens Sect. The Wuji Sect therefore treated her safety as a serious concern and initially restricted her movements 28 35.

After her Gangqi Realm breakthrough, her cultivation rate rises abnormally fast. Unable to identify the cause at first, Zhu Ningyun eventually learns that she possesses a special physique. A bloodline test by the Zhu Family reveals the rare Azure Cloud Sword Body, the same physique once held by the family’s Azure Cloud Progenitor 142 167.

The Zhu Family brings her from the Wuji Sect to the Central Continent for proper cultivation and a Sword Pool baptism. She is determined in both cultivation and love. Faced with the Zhu Family elder’s attempt to separate her from Lu Ming, she openly refuses to leave and is prepared to risk her life rather than accept the decision against her will 167. Although she worries that she may fall behind Lu Ming, that insecurity drives her to cultivate harder rather than abandon their relationship 166.
