Forest of Death.
Two figures tangled together, moving so fast their features were impossible to make out.
Beizawa stopped in his tracks, surprise flickering across his face.
His reason for leaving the academy was to meet Might Guy.
Bringing Hinata Hyuga along was just an excuse to give her some special training on the side.
Beizawa didn't step forward. He stood still, enjoying the one-on-one man-to-man battle unfolding before him.
He recognized both combatants.
Might Guy, in a green jumpsuit, had a style that was downright bizarre.
But Kakashi Hatake on the other side was no less striking—white hair and a black mask that only revealed his right eye, impossible to miss no matter how you looked at it.
Beizawa kept his eyes locked on Might Guy.
Soon enough, he saw him use the Konoha Great Whirlwind.
With nothing better to do, Beizawa memorized the movements.
But knowing the motions alone wasn't enough. The key to taijutsu was the technique behind the power.
Unless you had a Sharingan, you still needed someone to teach you.
Bam!
The two separated at the touch.
"That's enough for today."
Kakashi Hatake paused, his expression flat. "Beizawa's here. Must be something important."
"Then we'll pick this up another time."
Might Guy said, still hungry for more.
"Guy."
Beizawa walked up and greeted him, then added, "Kakashi."
"What brings you here at this hour?"
Kakashi Hatake glanced at Hinata Hyuga, who was hiding behind Beizawa.
"I just finished class and had nothing else to do."
Beizawa introduced her. "This is my student, Hinata Hyuga."
"I'm very interested in the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist."
Might Guy's eyes lit up.
"She's just a kid."
Kakashi Hatake reminded him.
Might Guy scratched his head at that.
The Hyuga Clan had a normal reputation, but like the Uchiha Clan, they weren't easy to approach.
The Uchiha Clan was arrogant; the Hyuga Clan was just weighed down by too many rules.
"Guy, I came to ask you for a favor."
Beizawa got straight to the point.
"You two talk. I'm heading back to the Anbu."
Kakashi Hatake vanished on the spot before they could respond.
Beizawa twitched the corner of his mouth.
He suspected Kakashi Hatake had bolted so fast because he was afraid Might Guy would latch onto him.
In the original story, Might Guy saw him as his lifelong rival and was always finding ways to spar with him, driving him up the wall.
Guess that's the thing about a good man—he can't stand being pestered by another man.
"Can you teach me the Konoha Great Whirlwind?"
Beizawa asked directly.
"Of course!"
Might Guy gave a thumbs-up, his teeth gleaming. "A fiery youth means learning taijutsu together and sweating it out!"
In the original story, he even taught forbidden techniques like the Eight Inner Gates to Kakashi Hatake.
Compared to that, the Konoha Great Whirlwind was just a very ordinary taijutsu move.
"Thanks."
A sudden idea struck Beizawa. "Do you know Rock Lee?"
He always repaid grudges with grudges and favors with favors.
Might Guy was powerful, but his odd behavior left him with few friends.
Rock Lee was different—practically cut from the same mold as him.
In the original story, they became teacher and student, like kindred spirits.
But that was six years away. Beizawa could help them get there sooner.
"Don't know him."
Might Guy thought for a few seconds, then shook his head.
Beizawa wasn't surprised.
After all, Rock Lee was only in second year now.
"Rock Lee. He's a student in Second Year Class A."
Beizawa explained. "If you have time, you could go meet him."
"Why?"
Might Guy asked, puzzled.
"I think he has the makings of youth."
Beizawa smiled. "He's well-suited to learn your taijutsu."
"Really?"
Might Guy suddenly got excited.
In the ninja world, the teacher-student bond was common but important.
Most ninja hoped to find a student who could inherit their techniques.
Might Guy was no exception.
But his students weren't just hard to find—the Eight Inner Gates were simply not easy to learn.
"You'll know when you see him."
Beizawa said confidently. "He won't disappoint you."
"Great!"
Might Guy froze, his body trembling, tears streaming down his face. "This must be the power of youth!"
Four words surfaced in Beizawa's mind: utterly speechless.
Hinata Hyuga stared wide-eyed.
What was going on? What a strange adult.
"Excellent!"
Might Guy wiped his tears and said, "Let's have a youthful lesson right now!"
"Hinata, since you're here, learn along too."
Beizawa followed behind Might Guy and said.
"O... okay."
Hinata Hyuga snapped back to reality and nodded.
"Watch closely!"
Might Guy stopped in front of a tree and shouted, "Konoha Great Whirlwind!"
He kicked out, a low strike hitting the trunk, then spun his body, turning it into a high kick.
Boom!
The tree shuddered violently, leaves scattering everywhere, a deep gash carved into the trunk.
"What terrifying power."
Beizawa couldn't help but click his tongue.
But thinking about it, it made sense. In the original story, Might Guy's effort was unmatched.
No exaggeration—aside from eating and sleeping, he was always training.
"Your turn."
Might Guy stepped aside.
Beizawa walked up and copied the move, executing the Konoha Great Whirlwind.
"Amazing!"
Hinata Hyuga blurted out, seeing him get it in one try.
"Did you learn it before?"
Might Guy asked, noting his flawless form.
"No."
Beizawa shook his head and spoke.
He really hadn't learned the Konoha Great Whirlwind, but he did have Konoha Whirlwind at Master Level.
"Beizawa, learn taijutsu from me!"
Might Guy's face lit up with an eager expression, his tone earnest.
"I don't have that much time to train."
Beizawa cleared his throat and refused. "Besides, we're classmates. If we become teacher and student, it'll mess up the seniority."
Learning the Eight Inner Gates—that was way too grueling. You'd have to suffer for a lifetime.
He'd finally gotten a system; couldn't he just enjoy himself?
Time reached noon.
After two hours of training, Beizawa successfully mastered the Konoha Great Whirlwind.
Current Mission: Master a C-rank ninjutsu faster than Sasuke Uchiha. Mission Reward: Art of the Flying Swallow. Host has completed the mission. Reward issued.
The Art of the Flying Swallow was both a ninjutsu and a shuriken-throwing technique.
Simply put, it used transparent threads to control shuriken, achieving an unexpected effect.
"Guy, thanks for today. I'll treat you to a meal."
Beizawa wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked, "What do you want to eat?"
"Ichiraku Ramen."
Might Guy thought for a moment, then said.
"Hinata, how are you?"
Beizawa turned to look at Hinata Hyuga.
Her fair face was flushed from sweat, and her usually neat hair had become disheveled.
"I... I'm fine."
Hinata Hyuga caught her breath and replied.
"Let's go to Ichiraku Ramen Shop."
Beizawa looked at her, thinking about the second round of training.
