Aburame Tetsumaru led his three subordinates far into the mountains. This place was already very close to the border of the Land of Rivers and was Training Ground No. 3, a complex mountain training area he had designated.
Training Ground No. 3 covered a vast area and featured complicated terrain, with cliffs and precipices everywhere amid dense forests. Its terrain matched that of the northern front's combat zone.
Aburame Tetsumaru deliberately released a massive swarm of insects as targets for his three subordinates' simulated combat training. They were not allowed to attack, only dodge and flee.
The instant Uchiha Hiroshi and Inuzuka O saw the densely packed insect swarm, they lost all motivation, just like Nara Yoshino.
Yesterday, they had spent several hours tangled up with a single Giant Insect before barely managing to take it down. Today, there were two Blade Mantises over three meters tall, along with palm-sized Spiders, locusts, beetles, Dragonflies, and countless other insects numbering in the thousands. Flying and crawling, they filled the entire mountain forest.
"Pah! I'm not doing this today. I'm dead either way, so I might as well lie down and die. Saves energy."
Aburame Tetsumaru chuckled. "Giving up and lying flat? I know all about that. You three brats are still too green."
With a wave of his hand, seven or eight thousand Giant Insects surged forward.
Insects did not seem like much when they were small, but once they grew larger, their appearance became especially grotesque. They looked like alien monsters, inspiring instinctive terror that seemed etched into one's genes.
Playing dead?
The real question was whether instinct would allow it.
With several swift whooshes, the three figures shot into the dense forest and vanished.
The Giant Dragonflies rose into the sky, coordinating the various Giant Insects in their pursuit
