Background / History
Tetsumaru is a transmigrator born into the Aburame clan. From childhood, he treats survival as his first priority: he deliberately cultivates support from Elder Shihui, carefully manages his reputation, and avoids attracting more attention than necessary from Konoha's leadership and Root. His fear of Shimura Danzō is reinforced by the disappearance of his cousin, Aburame Masao, and by Root's history of absorbing Aburame clan members. 3 6 10 24
His physical development is abnormal even by clan standards. At four, he is taller than five-year-olds; by eight, he approaches 1.6 meters in height; and before turning eleven, he is 171 centimeters tall and weighs 62 kilograms. This grants him exceptional physical strength and chakra reserves, but his Kikaichū micro-management is initially poor compared with other Aburame children. 3 6 13 29
After entering the Ninja Academy as the top student, he spends much of his time studying rather than attending class. He copies more than seventy ninjutsu spanning all five elemental transformations and begins developing his own insect-swarm “tech tree.” 10 12
During the Second Shinobi World War, Tetsumaru fights on the Land of Rain front. He survives his first battle against four Sunagakure ninja, joins Ueno Hayato's depleted squad, and conceals much of his combat record to avoid dangerous promotion and political scrutiny. 19 20 24
His partnership with Orochimaru begins during the Land of Rain campaign. In return for loyalty, Orochimaru provides him with advanced knowledge in ninjutsu, chakra cultivation, nature transformation, and chakra form manipulation. This relationship accelerates Tetsumaru's development of Chakra Runes, the Domain Barrier, insect larvae, and later Bio-Armor. 40 45
Following the war, he establishes an independent base in the Land of Tea, expands his insect army, develops industry and telecommunications, and gradually builds a civilization centered on the swarm, Shadow Clones, avatars, space infrastructure, and planetary defense. 127 128 130 134 232
Appearance
Tetsumaru's appearance is defined by abnormal growth, the Aburame clan's understated dress, and an increasingly inhuman physical presence as his cultivation advances.
- Wears the Aburame clan's long trench coat and dark sunglasses. 24
- Was exceptionally large for his age: 1.3 meters and 40 kilograms at five; nearly 1.6 meters at eight. 6 13
- Stood 171 centimeters and weighed 62 kilograms shortly before turning eleven. 29
- Uses Transformation Technique to conceal the 3.6-meter-tall Appendage Insect Bio-Armor as a 2.07-meter humanoid figure. 111
- Reaches approximately 2.2 meters after long-term cultivation of his Chakra Pathway Technique. 585
Personality
Tetsumaru is cautious, calculating, and intensely survival-oriented. As a child, he deliberately creates the image of a hot-headed troublemaker while secretly pursuing a low-profile strategy, believing that open displays of power invite danger from Konoha's higher-ups and Root. 7 10 14
He is also highly pragmatic about loyalty. He believes that receiving protection and education from the Aburame clan obligates him to contribute in return, such as assigning credit for Ant Sugar to the clan rather than claiming it personally. 6
Despite his ruthless strategic thinking, Tetsumaru consistently protects subordinates and values people who have earned his trust. He leads from the front to create openings for Uchiha Kei and Kurama Yun, shields his students during the Kazekage battle, permits injured enemy genin to retreat, and accepts students partly to build a network that can protect them. 41 83 87 88
His prolonged use of Shadow Clones and avatars burdens his identity and mental stability. After receiving the complete life experience of an alternate-life chemist, he recognizes the danger of excessive memories and begins prioritizing projects that reduce dependence on his main body. 130 133 269

- Conducts a major Senjutsu breakthrough supported by Katsuyu. 269
- Can mobilize the spiritual power of the insect swarm across the Shinobi World. 297
- Achieves mental unity with a galaxy-wide bug swarm through Sage Mode: Swarm. 697
Psychokinesis
Tetsumaru chooses psychokinesis as a primary direction for advancing his Senjutsu.
- Can shape collective spiritual power into high-pressure attacks, solid spiritual constructs, or mental effects. 297

- Learns from Orochimaru's python-swallowing ninjutsu to improve the transmission speed and exit range of the Insect Path Technique. 234
- Cannot use summoning or Flying Thunder God within Shikkotsu Forest due to Katsuyu's interference. 191
