On the ninth floor, Zhang Heng had led the waitress astray. Besides making it impossible for Zero to figure out the situation in Room 936, it also meant he had gained a guide.
Especially in areas where he was unsure whether it was safe, he could have the waitress scout ahead. There was some danger for her, but under normal circumstances, neither side was likely to make things difficult for a hotel waitress.
That said, it still could not conceal the awful fact that someone was using the waitress as a lab rat. She simply had not realized it yet. Watching Zhang Heng stop and go, squat before certain walls, or suddenly lie flat on the ground, the waitress grew curious.
After a while, she could not help asking, "Officer, um... did you come to investigate alone?"
"Mm." Zhang Heng said, "Why? Why do you ask?"
"Nothing. But usually, aren't there at least two officers responding to a call?"
"There are two of us. My partner just happens to be busy with something else." Zhang Heng said.
"Oh, oh." The waitress nodded. Before long, however, she asked again, "Then, Officer, could you tell me what exactly we're looking for?"
"Sure. That person you saw earlier wearing Exoskeleton Gear—I'm looking for his accomplices. There should be three more."
"There are three more people like that?" The waitress's eyes widened. "Officer, can you handle them?"
"One should not be a problem. Two would be hard to say. If all three came at once, it would be difficult." Zhang Heng answered honestly.
"Then what do we do if we run into them?" The waitress was dumbfounded.
Before Zhang Heng could answer, an explosion suddenly rang out beneath them. It came from below their feet, but it was so violent that they could hear
