Seeking Dyaltov
In fact, Coconut was not the only one on the player team who had vomited. Mechanic and Mouse had thrown up twice as well, though neither looked as bad as Coconut.
The wound on the hand the doctor had wrapped in bandages seemed unable to heal at all. Blood kept seeping out, and the bandages had to be changed every so often. Even under the effects of sedatives, Coconut still looked miserable. Her lips also seemed to be showing signs of cracking.
Not to mention the lingering nausea. The players could all feel it, though to varying degrees. A faint sour smell had also appeared in the air, though it was not yet very noticeable.
The players had gradually left the bookstore and climbed back into the jeep.
Zhang Heng walked behind the others and said to Coconut, "Tell her that she can call her boyfriend and tell him to stay home today and not go out. But don't say anything extra. If she tries any tricks, I'll know."
Coconut rinsed her mouth with water from the old bookstore's kettle. Hearing this, she glanced at Zhang Heng. "Should I tell her why?"
"Yes. Tell her the truth—that the nuclear power plant exploded."
Coconut nodded.
A moment later, surprise appeared on Bessonova's face. She seemed to find it hard to believe, but there was not much fear in her eyes. Zhang Heng guessed she simply did not understand the severity of the situation, much like the night fishermen they had seen on the road.
However, Zhang Heng did not explain. For one thing, Coconut, acting as the intermediary, already looked exhausted, and he did not want to make her waste more breath. For another, he had already done all he could by letting Bessonova call and warn her boyfriend.
