The Oriole
Zhang Heng and Shen Xixi walked along the river for a while, feeding plenty of mosquitoes, but failed to lure out Master Yoda as they had hoped.
"Maybe someone else came out tonight. Or perhaps I should try on that Hermione outfit and see if I can lure out Dumbledore," Shen Xixi said.
"Are you sure?"
Zhang Heng had also seen the outfit in the box afterward and could understand why its owner had been so angry. He had to admit that there was a reason the cosplay costume had been called a treasured collection by a bespectacled guy.
There was nothing wrong with its design, and the workmanship was quite fine. However, both the shirt on top and the skirt below were far too small, practically like children's clothing. On Shen Xixi, they would probably barely cover the essentials.
"Or..." Shen Xixi took a breath. "We could just be more direct."
"How direct?"
"Whether it's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Master Yoda, Dumbledore, or something else, they're basically all positive characters. Their actions carry a sense of justice."
"That's right."
"Maybe we can directly stage a crime scene. No matter who comes out tonight, there's a good chance we'll lure them over."
"Uh... have you considered that the ones we lure over... might be the police?" Zhang Heng said.
"We can find somewhere with hardly anyone around," Shen Xixi said. "This is practically a stage built specifically for a superhero's entrance."
"...If you don't object, then I have no problem with it either," Zhang Heng said. "But we should put on makeup and change clothes first, so no one recognizes that we were wandering around nearby earlier."
Since they had decided to put on an act, Zhang Heng could only make the details as convincing as possible.
