History

Meeting Andres

Riding first appears alongside Bowen near Firebird City, where Bowen challenges Takke. He uses Dragon’s Roar to protect Bowen, concedes the match on his brother’s behalf, and takes him away. When Andres follows them seeking friendship, Riding initially refuses and warns him against further pursuit 136.

His attitude changes after Andres demonstrates the power of fused Profound Mysteries. Riding and Bowen had believed that fully comprehending a Law’s mysteries was the end of cultivation; Andres reveals a path to greater strength. They spend three hundred years together, and after Bowen defeats Takke, Riding invites Andres to the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range 137 138 139.

The Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range

Riding introduces Andres to Nimo, Lius, and the family’s households. At this stage, he is the only sibling with a descendant: Gaisreisen, whose unawakened Azure Dragon bloodline limits his progress. The family supplements its small bloodline population by recruiting outside God-level experts 139.

Riding offers Andres a residence, attendants, and a place within the family’s expanding influence. However, the siblings privately intend to make Andres submit rather than accept him as an equal. Riding also keeps family affairs and Lius’s innate ability secret from him 139 140 141.

Conflict with Montra

When Montra orders all four siblings to help fight Xing Yi, Riding tries to preserve a defender at home by leaving Nimo behind. Montra arrives unexpectedly and demands that they sign a Master-Servant Contract. Their refusal leads to battle 141 142.

Riding fights in his Azure Dragon form, shields Nimo, and repeatedly uses Dragon’s Roar against Montra. Nevertheless, Montra wounds him and exploits the limited number of times the siblings can use their innate abilities in quick succession. Andres ultimately kills Montra 142 143 145.

Riding then proposes taking over Montra’s forces with Andres. Although the rescue changes his assessment of Andres’s strength, it does not establish lasting trust. After Andres declines and departs, Riding argues that keeping him alive may still be useful 145.

Bloodline Research and Territorial Expansion

Following Montra’s death, the family rapidly expands, occupying half the western Blood Peak Continent within thirty years. News of Iron Saber Gorge’s Teleportation Array draws Riding’s interest, but he refuses to risk the family merely to repay Andres’s kindness 147.

Riding travels to Iron Saber Gorge with Lius, secretly intending to demand Andres’s submission and seize the array. He orders Lius to attack if Andres refuses. That plan is suspended when Andres offers help awakening Gaisreisen’s bloodline 157 158.

After learning that Claude created Metal Life and Death God Puppets, Riding agrees to assist his research. He postpones violence because killing Andres might cost him Claude’s cooperation. Claude’s God Clone later accompanies him back to the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range to continue the work 158 166.

Combined Ability and Gaisreisen’s Awakening

Bowen’s encounter with Abyss Plane divine beasts suggests that innate abilities can be combined. Riding supports experimenting with all four siblings’ abilities, hoping to overcome their individual inferiority to Hell’s strongest experts 175.

The experiment eventually succeeds. Their Combined Innate Divine Ability produces a soul attack amplified more than ten thousandfold. At nearly the same time, Claude develops the Dragon Transformation Crystal, allowing Gaisreisen to awaken his Azure Dragon bloodline 191.

Riding asks Claude to remain and research equivalent treasures for the other siblings’ descendants. He also changes the family’s priorities: rather than relying heavily on recruited outsiders, he wants to increase the number of bloodline descendants 191.

Breakdown of Relations with Andres

Recordings of Andres’s battles reveal that he can use Bowen’s Spatial Confinement and Lius’s Tiger Roar. Riding considers an outsider possessing these abilities a threat, but recognizes that fighting Andres could kill a sibling and destroy their ability to combine powers. He instead proposes bringing Andres into the family through marriage to Nimo 191 192.

When Ophelia and Vivian attack Andres, Riding chooses to watch rather than immediately help. The siblings consider exploiting the battle, but Riding abandons an attack after realizing that Andres’s separated clones and powerful counterattacks make the risk unacceptable 194 197 198.

Afterward, he claims that their strength had been insufficient to intervene and renews the marriage proposal. Andres refuses while still offering cooperation. Riding leaves, and later describes their peace with Iron Saber Gorge as merely superficial 198 202.

Sovereign Ascension and Death

Riding orders the siblings to split up and compete for separate Lower-level Sovereign Sparks. He reasons that even their combined ability cannot replace becoming Sovereigns themselves 202 203.

After ascending, he attempts to kill Andres’s clone with Will Power over the Fire Sovereign Spark intended for Nimo. Andres’s Fire Sovereign Clone blocks him. Riding then negotiates for the Spark, agreeing to provide the combined ability’s method and essence blood from all four siblings 207 208.

Once Nimo becomes a Sovereign, the siblings use their combined ability to kill Gudrian. Riding secretly plans to fulfill their Supreme God’s Oath, recover their Innate Energy, and then kill Andres 208.

Andres obtains the method and turns on them first. Their Combined Innate Divine Ability fails to stop him, and he kills Riding before Bowen and Lius. Riding’s Sovereign Spark emerges from his shattered head, and his Azure Dragon corpse falls to the ground. Nimo escapes 209.

Appearance

Riding’s humanoid form is a stern man with sharply defined features and a calm, steady bearing 136.

  • Clothing: Wears a blue robe when first encountered 136.
  • True form: An enormous Azure Dragon with scales, claws, and a long tail 142 143.
  • Size: His dragon corpse measures over ten thousand meters long 209.

Personality

Riding combines composure with strong protectiveness toward his siblings. He restrains Bowen’s recklessness, shields Nimo during battle, and orders endangered family members to prioritize survival. He resists Montra’s demand for servitude despite the danger 136 142 143 173.

His loyalty is sharply selective. He places the Four Divine Beasts Family above gratitude, regards outsiders as less reliable than blood relatives, and is willing to abandon a benefactor who threatens the family. His friendly treatment of Andres repeatedly conceals plans for submission, resource seizure, or murder 147 157 158 191 208.

Riding is ambitious but adjusts his tactics when the odds change. He postpones attacking Andres to preserve the bloodline research, pursues a marriage alliance when direct conflict appears too costly, and abandons another attack after reassessing Andres’s strength 158 191 198.

Abilities & Skills

Dragon’s Roar

Riding’s Innate Divine Ability manifests through an Azure Dragon projection and changes the flow of time around its target, slowing movement 143.

  • Protects Bowen during his first battle with Takke 136.
  • Slows Montra as he approaches Riding’s head 143.
  • Works alongside Spatial Confinement to briefly immobilize Gudrian, though the stronger Sovereign breaks free 208.
  • Can be used only twice in a short period before Innate Energy must recover 143 208.

Water Law

Riding cultivates the Water Law, which supports his defensive strength. Andres’s explanation of mystery fusion opens a previously unknown route for improving his attacks and defenses 137 143.

  • Reaches three fused mysteries by the time the combined ability is perfected 191.
  • Later reaches four fused mysteries and Commander-level combat strength 202.

Azure Dragon Physique

Among the Four Divine Beasts, the Azure Dragon is the most balanced. Riding and Bowen possess the strongest defenses of the siblings and use their bodies to shield Nimo and Lius 143.

  • Regenerates destroyed claws and other bodily injuries with divine power, provided his soul remains unharmed 142 143.
  • Possesses Main Godhead Level Body talent: the potential for a Sovereign Artifact-level physique 136 137.
  • Azure Dragon physical talent is developed through reinforcement with Sovereign’s Might; possessing the talent does not mean a Highgod already has a fully developed Sovereign Artifact-level body 137 195.

Combined Innate Divine Ability

Riding coordinates the four siblings’ fusion of their innate abilities into a tremendously amplified soul attack 175 191.

  • Amplifies the attack by more than ten thousand times 191 208.
  • At the Highgod stage, approaches the strength of a Paragon Highgod’s soul attack 191.
  • Retains its amplification after their Sovereign ascension and kills the Mid-level Sovereign Gudrian 208.
  • Requires all four siblings; losing any one prevents the remaining three from using it 191 198.
  • Fails against Andres during their final confrontation 209.

Sovereign Powers

After refining his Spark, Riding gains Sovereign’s Might and Will Power 207.

  • Attempts to kill Andres’s clone through Will Power without a physical strike 207.
  • Can travel through Spatial Turbulence to reach other locations 208.
  • Remains substantially weaker than a Mid-level Sovereign when fighting without the complete four-beast combination 208.

Equipment / Items

  • Blue Dragon-shaped Metal Life — Transportation used to bring Andres and Dup to the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range 139.
  • Space Ring — Stores his Metal Life 139.
  • Lower-level Sovereign Spark — Refined to become a Sovereign; emerges from his body after Andres kills him 207 209.
  • Dragon Transformation Crystal — Developed by Claude to awaken Gaisreisen’s Azure Dragon bloodline; Claude leaves its refining method with the family 191.

Relationships

  • Bowen — Younger brother and the Black Tortoise. Riding accompanies his challenges and restrains his impulsive pursuit of battle 136 138.
  • Nimo — Younger sister and the Vermilion Bird. Riding protects her, encourages her to consider marriage, and negotiates for the Spark she needs to become a Sovereign 143 191 208.
  • Lius — Younger brother and the White Tiger. Obeys Riding’s decisions, including restrictions on revealing his innate ability 141 147.
  • Gaisreisen — Only son. Awakening his Azure Dragon bloodline is Riding’s deepest desire when Andres first encounters him 136 191.
  • Andres — Cultivation benefactor and uneasy ally who becomes an enemy. Their cooperation ends in Andres killing Riding 137 158 198 209.
  • Claude — Researcher who develops the Dragon Transformation Crystal. Riding offers him status second only to the four siblings and requests further bloodline research 191.
  • Montra — Powerful neighboring ruler whose demand for a Master-Servant Contract turns Riding’s reluctant cooperation into open resistance 141 142.
