At the beginning of the first calendric era, Andres reasoned that Sovereigns—and therefore the magical systems they would later establish—might not yet exist. He identified refining a Sovereign Spark as the only path to becoming a Sovereign and resolved to prepare before their appearance 2 3.
After building an intelligence network across the Supreme Planes, Andres tracked powerful experts likely to contend for Sparks and prioritized the Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water Sovereign Sparks for his God Clones 140 181 199.
Seventy-seven pillars of light ultimately appeared throughout the Four Supreme Planes, confirming the descent of all Sovereign Sparks 199. The Four Supreme Gods later announced that the pillars would remain for three hundred years, during which the Sparks could not be approached; once revealed, an independently ascended Highgod could refine one and become a Sovereign 201.
The ensuing contests caused widespread slaughter among Highgods, Seven-star Demons, and Lords. The Wind Elemental High Godhead was claimed by Andres's Wind Element God Clone, making him a Sovereign 206.
