Elysian Realm: Learning of Erosion

Through Zhang Wei's explanation, the Flame-Chasers became very interested in the current civilization outside, especially with the existence of Otto. His five hundred years of stable rule were definitely not something an ordinary person could achieve, and they wondered if he was a friend or foe.

"Alright, then it'll be the other twelve Flame-Chasers. When the Herrscher of Erosion arrives, Snake Snake, you and the Elysian Realm will disappear together!" Zhang Wei teased Mobius, wanting to see her reaction.

"Herrscher of Erosion..." Mobius's expression stiffened. She slowly uttered the words as if they were stuck in her throat.

If the Herrscher of Binding was the tragedy the Flame-Chasers least wanted to recall, and the Thirteen Flame-Chasers were the name given after that, with the other Fusion Warriors having died in the tragedy of the Binding.

Then the Herrscher of Erosion was the final straw that broke the back of the previous civilization. It controlled nuclear weapons and destroyed the last few remaining cities. Although everyone knew humanity had lost before, a sliver of hope remained. However, with the destruction of the last few cities, it undoubtedly signaled the end of the previous civilization.

The Flame-Chasers all glanced subtly at Sakura, as the Herrscher of Erosion of the previous civilization was Sakura's sister, Ling, a pitiable young girl.

"I'm fine, and isn't it highly possible that Ling is still alive?" Sakura shook her head and smiled. Her long ears twitched, signaling they didn't need to worry so much. She was a Flame-Chaser of [Setsuna], not that fragile.

"So... Captain, are you saying the Herrscher of Erosion will enter the Elysian Realm in the future?" Elysia asked in surprise.

The other Flame-Chasers frowned in unison. This information seemed too explosive, but upon careful consideration, it was quite reasonable.

"Yes, if we hadn't appeared, the Herrscher of Erosion would have descended upon the Elysian Realm. For a large world made of data, it would be fertile ground for the Herrscher of Erosion. There's only one way to deal with it!" Zhang Wei said.

Although the method wasn't explicitly stated, everyone had already thought of it.

That was to sacrifice the Elysian Realm to bring about the demise of the Herrscher of Erosion. As Flame-Chasers, they would undoubtedly make that choice without hesitation.

"In the future I saw, the Elysian Realm would indeed face destruction, but I'm not sure about now!" Aponia said slowly.

The Flame-Chasers nodded. Aponia's ability to see the threads of fate was truly heaven-defying. It seemed the Herrscher of Erosion would really descend upon the Elysian Realm in the near future.

"What? Boss, I want to go out! I don't want to stay here and wait to die!" Pardo shivered, the fur on her tail standing on end. While she could do brave things like opening doors, she was undoubtedly the most afraid of death and the most cowardly among the Flame-Chasers, without exception. Even Griseo couldn't compare.

Knowing there was a way to avoid it, she wouldn't be foolish enough to wait for death here. It didn't matter if it was dangerous outside; she had Elysia and the others with her. But as a Memory Body, staying in the Elysian Realm to face the Herrscher of Erosion was truly waiting to die.

"No, big brother, please! Create a body for me!"

Snakes could bend and stretch. What was the point of her staying here? To research how to die more gracefully if the Herrscher of Erosion really arrived?

Forget it. It's just admitting defeat; she wouldn't lose anything.

"Mmm, good girl. So don't be so stubborn with your words!" Zhang Wei patted the snake's head. Mobius was furious inwardly but had to maintain a smile. Seeing this, the Flame-Chasers couldn't help but chuckle. The only one who could make Mobius so flustered and yet endure it without retaliating was Zhang Wei. Even Elysia couldn't do that.

"I know, big brother!" Mobius said with a forced smile, gritting her teeth.

"Sigh, I'm a bit reluctant to leave the Elysian Realm so suddenly," Elysia sighed softly. Having lived there for tens of thousands of years, she had deep feelings for it.

"Pink Fatty, if you're reluctant and want to stay here to meet the Herrscher of Erosion, then stay here by yourself!" Mobius said gleefully.

Although the Herrscher of Erosion in the previous civilization only manifested as virus intrusions into networks and electronic facilities, the word "erosion" was very telling. She also had preserved erosion viruses, and she hadn't dared to research them too excessively over the years, as this was a world made of data, and she didn't want to destroy herself. However, she had learned some things, so this Herrscher before Finality was definitely not simple. Who knew if it would have even more detrimental effects on life.

While she was somewhat interested in meeting the Herrscher of Erosion, being left alone in a place without anyone for many years would drive her mad with boredom and loneliness.

There were so many cute girls waiting for her outside. How could the Elysian Realm be a cage that trapped her? She definitely didn't want to stay here alone.

"We can leave the Elysian Realm for now and let World Serpent maintain it. Perhaps it can serve as bait to lure the Herrscher of Erosion into it, and then we can catch it like a turtle in a jar!" Zhang Wei said with a confident smile, adjusting his Captain's hat with one hand and clenching his fist in the air with the other.

Let's first see if the Herrscher of Erosion is worth trying to recruit. If it harbors malice, and if it poses a threat to Kevin's armament, they could just blow up the Elysian Realm. The Elysian Realm would have served its purpose far beyond its original intent by helping the current civilization deal with the Herrscher before Finality.

If they missed it in the future, they could always rebuild a world made of data. It would be making the best use of their resources.
