Against the white snowflakes, Zhang Wei and Elysia's hair stood out strikingly. Kind-hearted Elysia wanted to save the poor little girl, while Zhang Wei was considering whether Otto could still cultivate Schicksal's strongest S-rank Valkyrie if he no longer had the real Kiana.
"Kevin? You came too?"
Rustling footsteps sounded out. Elysia turned around and saw Kevin approaching, his face as cold as ice—colder even than the frozen landscape outside.
"Yeah. Someone came, so I came to take a look." Kevin nodded and looked toward the mobile unit in the distance. Riding snow vehicles, they were rapidly heading this way.
"A Schicksal Valkyrie squad. They aren't much of a threat. Kevin, are you interested in dealing with them?" Zhang Wei spotted the Valkyrie with long brownish-gray hair. She was Ragna, Schicksal's Valkyrie instructor.
"They may be immature, but they are all warriors fighting the Honkai. I won't attack them." Kevin shook his head and turned to leave.
"Fair enough. Let's go!"
Zhang Wei directly pried up the patch of ground beneath the real Kiana and took it back to the Hyperion with her. He could restore the real Kiana to normal in an instant, but he wanted to see whether Otto's method could likewise give birth to Penguin.
Elysia had no intention of speaking with those Valkyries for the time being. After clearing away their traces, she followed behind Zhang Wei.
That was right—the Hyperion was currently concealed deep within the snow-covered mountains. Not a single person in the world had noticed it. Kolosten was quite close to this place, and they could easily go to any city they wanted.
"Bishop, this is Ragna. The target has disappeared and was rescued by Anti-Entropy!"
When Ragna arrived at the massive crater, she contacted Otto and reported her conclusion.
"I understand. You've worked hard. Return for now." Otto's voice came through the communicator.
"Understood!"
"The mission is over. Fall back!"
Ragna immediately issued orders to the team behind her. On the boundless snowy plains, even wearing Schicksal equipment could not keep out the cold. She led her team back to Schicksal.
"Anti-Entropy..." Otto sneered coldly. They had opposed him back then, and now they were interfering again. It seemed he had been far too merciful to Anti-Entropy.
"Amber, take proper care of Anti-Entropy's people."
Otto leaned back in his office chair, elegantly swirling a glass of expensive red wine in his hand as he casually moved against Anti-Entropy. Holding the power of the world in his palm, he had served as Schicksal's bishop for five hundred years and never regarded an organization like Anti-Entropy as worth his attention. Since they were so eager to court death, he did not mind making them suffer for a long time.
"Understood, Bishop."
The unsuspecting Anti-Entropy had no idea that they had been saddled with the blame. Over the following years, facing Schicksal's attacks, Anti-Entropy would have to tighten its belt, yet they would only dare to resent it in silence. Schicksal was simply too enormous. Of course, that was a story for later.
"Little Griseo, is that us?"
When they returned to the Hyperion's deck, Griseo was dressed in a little padded coat, her cheeks rosy from the cold. In front of her stood more than a dozen snowmen, all lifelike enough to resemble real people. As expected of Griseo—her talent for painting was already extraordinary, and even the snowmen she built looked like works of art. Elysia's eyes lit up at the sight.
Seeing the snow piled across the deck, Zhang Wei felt an urge to clear it away. But since little Griseo wanted to play, he let her be. Once she had had enough fun, they could activate the protective field, and the snowflakes would no longer be able to fall inside.
"Mm. There's no snow in the Elysian Realm, so I made snowmen for you all!" Little Griseo nodded. Then she noticed the patch of ground floating nearby, where the real Kiana lay quietly, as though she had stopped breathing.
"Is this little sister hurt?"
"Mm. We'll have Mobius save her later." Zhang Wei nodded. During these years here, raising children could help pass the time.
Griseo patted the snow from her hands and followed the two of them back aboard the Hyperion.
"Haah, why are we parked in this frozen wasteland? I feel like hibernating." Mobius wore a green sleeping bag, looking exactly like a snake preparing to hibernate. Her languid charm gave off none of her usual dangerous aura.
Strictly speaking, Honkai Beasts like Shesha were serpentine creatures, and she similarly disliked cold places. Without research to occupy her, she had completely let herself go.
"Su, have you already started living the healthy retired life?" Mobius looked at the steaming hot tea in Su's hand and could not help mocking him.
The Flame-Chasers from the Previous Civilization were incredibly idle now, and their hobbies had developed in every direction.
"Mm. This isn't our era, either. As the Captain says, after fighting the Honkai for an entire lifetime, can't we enjoy ourselves a little?" Su took a light sip of his tea. His entire body radiated an air of harmony with nature, enough to make people think he was about to become an immortal cultivator.
"Aren't you going to do something about your original body in the Thames? That body won't last much longer." Mobius spoke in a strange tone. As a psychic Fusion Warrior, Su's consciousness was not easily extinguished, but his physical body was far weaker than those of other Fusion Warriors.
"No rush. When he can no longer hold on, if he agrees, we can merge again. Neither of us will be the dominant one—we will both be Su."
Su shook his head. His original body could still hold out for several more years. They could discuss it then.
"Mobius, come out and get to work! There's a child here who needs you to save her!" Zhang Wei shouted from outside. Mobius was full of question marks. Save someone? Save who? And besides, didn't he possess Finality's authority? Saving one person should be effortless for him.
"I know..."
Upon hearing that someone needed saving, Mobius took off her green sleeping bag and reluctantly walked out of the room. Su had also been a doctor in the Previous Civilization, so he followed her outside to take a look.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. A fragment has pierced her head—it should have reached the brain. These injuries were likely caused by falling from a great height. Her internal organs are bleeding to varying degrees, her muscles are torn, most of her bones are shattered, and her organs are beginning to fail. She can't be saved. Just wait for her to die!" The moment Mobius saw the injuries, she determined the situation.
"Mobius, this little one is still breathing. Her vitality is truly unusually tenacious. She can still be saved." Su, with the compassion of a healer, opened his eyes and was astonished by the real Kiana's life force. How tenacious it was—even with only the faintest breath remaining.
"Captain, where did you pick her up? Can't you use the Authority of Death to heal her yourself?"
"Outside. Her name is Durandal Kaslana. I can save her, but there are other methods." Zhang Wei gave her that name. Kiana would probably be given to K423 by Seigfried, so this name suited her better.
