Durandal and Bianca, perhaps because they looked quite alike, seemed likely to have plenty in common. There was a distinct sense of mutual appreciation between them.
Rita helplessly covered her delicate, snow-white forehead. Her gorgeous wine-red eyes brimmed with speechless exasperation, and even her gentle smile had stiffened slightly.
"Durandal... could you tell us what your purpose is?"
Rita spoke softly. Her short ash-gold hair flowed slowly like fine sand, and the shadows it cast concealed her eyes, making her emotions impossible to read.
Although Durandal looked so much like Bianca, if she truly posed a threat to Bianca...
Rita would not hold back. But she did not seem to be Durandal's match either. What a headache.
"Penguin, tell them what I told you to say!"
Zhang Wei contacted Durandal with great interest. She was only slightly stunned before nodding imperceptibly.
"We should be people from parallel worlds to one another. Bishop Kallen sent me to explore the Sea of Quantum. You were sent for the same reason, weren't you?"
Rita and Bianca exchanged glances, both utterly astonished. As Valkyries of Schicksal, they knew that Kallen, a figure from history, held an immeasurably important position within Schicksal.
Otto had certainly played a major role in that, but practically everyone knew about it, aside from failing Parameciums like Kiana.
"The Bishop Kallen you mentioned... wouldn't that be Lady Kallen Kaslana, would it!?" Rita asked in surprise.
"That's right. Kallen Kaslana is Schicksal's current bishop!" Durandal nodded. She did not understand Zhang Wei's twisted sense of humor either.
Thump!
Otto had been listening to the conversation in real time as well. This time, he could no longer remain seated and sprang to his feet on reflex.
To him, the name Kallen carried a weight that no one else could ever compare to.
