After his daily cat-teasing, Lu PingAn found the Little Guy before him, who had fainted from fright, rather amusing.
The tree-hollow cabinet in his temporary base had been opened, its towels tossed out, while this Little Guy had apparently spent the entire night trembling inside it.
"Gray Rock?"
No matter how he looked at her, this Little Guy did not resemble a professional mercenary. Setting aside mercenaries from other worlds, Earth's mercenaries—especially those from the United States—were mostly bastards who deserved to die.
In this relatively lawful and peaceful age, war-chasing mongrels were, most of the time, destroyers of order and life.
Yet this Little Guy looked like a human child, with short silver hair, two antennae, and four ears. Her crystal-like eyes made a decent impression, while her tiny wings clearly could not fly. The entire creature looked more like a doll. In truth, if not for that adorable appearance, Lu Mouren might have casually written her off the moment he saw her Gray Rock uniform—junior soldier edition.

Glancing at the sky, he saw that the cumulonimbus clouds had apparently been shattered by some force last night. It was now one of the rare clear days here. (Mei Yuge: To stop me from making it snow, they really spared no expense.)
They had fought hard all night. Because the battle had been far too "enjoyable," even the Red Star Republic military had merely waited on the outskirts, with absolutely no intention of coming in to inspect the situation—and seek death.
