Using the outpost centered around the beast-taming base, they needed to conduct a large-scale purge and root out hidden threats within their territory.
Yet judging from the results, the situation was rather subtle.
"Just scraps around the edges?"
The work of pulling out the nails had gone remarkably smoothly, leaving Lu PingAn somewhat disappointed.
The Aus were as scattered as ever. It was not just Horde Company that had come, but several other companies and independent teams as well.
The sentries Lu PingAn had cleared out were mercenary employees of a Security Company. It was not wrong to call them Horde Company's people, since their entire mercenary company was an affiliated force of Horde.
Now, Horde Company had gone mad. When dealing with outsiders, especially competitors from Earth, they killed first and talked later.
Under normal circumstances, in most cases, if someone was gone, they were simply gone. After all, an individual's power could never compare to that of a major local power.
Moreover, most previous Otherworld Exploration had been "illegal border-crossing." If some small or mid-sized force's Investment failed, they could only accept their bad luck. Rather than stubbornly fighting the local Aus powers to the death, they might as well develop elsewhere.
This was the reality in many other worlds. Once the local powers rose up, they became warlords in a sense. Those who arrived later were often far crueler than the natives.
