"Is it the fifth day already?"
After the Aus launched a devastating strike, only for that strike to be reflected back by Lu PingAn, it seemed as though nothing had changed.
The Aus camp was still stationed at the foot of the mountain, while the East Country People still held the mountain and the trenches.
Both sides launched attacks from time to time, slaughtering each other before leaving behind corpses and wounds.
Yet everyone knew the situation had completely changed. Some things could never go back.
"The Aus who came up today were clearly acting strange. They fired two shots, then ran without even checking whether they'd hit anything."
"They probably can't hold out much longer. It looks like our people have successfully cut off their food supply."
This was probably something no one had expected before the war.
The Aus had originally come to encircle the East Country People and wipe them out. Even if they failed to achieve enough results, they could have gradually starved them out.
But now, it was the Aus who might face a food shortage.
The destruction of their headquarters also meant they had lost the core of their command and coordination, most of their stockpiled reserves, their rear personnel, any potentially devastating weapons, and... in short, apart from what they currently had, they had lost everything.
Lu PingAn's morale-shattering broadcasts had also come at just the right time. Once the other Aus bases received the news, even if they claimed not to believe it, they would naturally verify it. And once they did, those small bases might be entirely deserted by the next day.
No one was stupid these days. Once defeat was inevitable, those in the rear would naturally begin preparing in advance.
The East Country People were not in a hurry
