Lu PingAn helped the Eastern Kingdom prepare for and launch its counteroffensive against the Fishmen, expanding his influence and leading the Black Flame Legion into battle. After defeating the Obscure Death Serpent in Australia, he left his forces ready to continue the campaign.

Arc 65The Awakening Plague and Counterattack

After Sakurajima fell, Lu PingAn unleashed the Awakening Disease against the Fishmen while the Eastern Kingdom prepared for a prolonged war. Three years later, he returned to wartime affairs and brought assurances of protection to New Tokyo as its people prepared to reclaim their homeland.

  • Lu PingAn searched the fallen Sakurajima for the imperial family, found Princess Yizi missing, and later discovered she had betrayed her family to the Fishmen and become their captive.
  • Lu PingAn created the Awakening Disease from infected Fishmen, and its parasites transformed hosts into creatures that spread the plague through the invaders.
  • Lu PingAn’s infected duplicate fought a Fishmen demigod and spread the disease among the Octopus Race, while Lu PingAn documented the outbreak and received Rule-level Kusanagi Sword replicas as spoils.

Arc 66The Counteroffensive Begins

Lu PingAn helped prepare the Eastern Kingdom for war by drawing Sakurajima’s people toward its cause, expanding his Woodland and Life Transaction Pathway, and strengthening Ancient City’s industry. After the First Earth Defense War began and early offensives exposed the enemy’s strength, the Eastern Kingdom assembled its forces for a counteroffensive led by Dragon Moon Island.

  • Lu PingAn recruited Baishi Wuling as a disciple after discovering her Soul Hacker ability, and tasked her with finding Scholars to help her handle his forbidden knowledge.
  • Lu PingAn encouraged Sakurajima’s superhumans to enlist by promising land and military rewards, while the Eastern Kingdom cultivated ties with the refugees and their leaders.

Lu PingAn helped Mountainous Country and the Eastern Kingdom turn back the Fishmen, while his life-force inheritance and Dragon Moon Island’s assault on Australia shifted the war. After the island survived a devastating attack, the humans gained the initiative and prepared for a war of attrition.

Arc 68The Black Flame Campaign

As the God Above Gods threatened the world, Lu PingAn uncovered a way to exploit its hunger and joined the assault on Australia. He recruited Zhu Xinran, led his Black Flame Legion against the Fishmen, and defeated the Obscure Death Serpent, leaving his forces poised to press the campaign further.

  • Lu PingAn recognized that the God Above Gods could destroy the world, then found that its avatar ignored him when it judged him unappetizing.
  • Lu PingAn identified Akadisha, the Brain-Chewing Claw, and planned to alter its summoning rituals by offering it unfamiliar intelligent beings.
