Dinosaur Medals—Core Medals created by gathering the power of extinct creatures. Their desire was "nothing," and they possessed power that overwhelmed other Core Medals. In OOO's world, most of Greeed's Core Medals had basically been chopped to pieces by them.
So Kazrai was panicking like crazy. It couldn't help it; it clearly remembered being hacked to death by OOO in this form, wielding that axe.
But after thinking it over, it still gritted its teeth and charged forward. "I have thirteen Core Medals now. I'm even stronger than when I was fully resurrected. Why should I be afraid of you?!"
With a cheetah's extreme speed, Kazrai turned into a streak of yellow light. Combining its own intense light with Uva's electrical current, it swung its claws again and again at Eiji. Eiji could not keep up with its speed, and with his vision obstructed, he could only passively endure the assault.
Kiana, watching from afar, was deeply worried. "Uncle doesn't seem to be able to beat that stinking dog. Should we transform again and help him?"
Xing handed her a slice of watermelon. "Bronya's calculations show that the burden from a single Fire Moth Quad Fusion will take at least twenty-four hours to ease. Unless you want to be eroded by Honkai Energy and turn into zombies, get some proper rest. Besides, don't underestimate this form. Mr. Eiji simply hasn't adapted to it yet."
Bronya adjusted Heavy-Duty Rabbit 19C's camera, allowing everyone to see more clearly.
Eiji truly could not keep up with Kazrai's speed. However, daring to provoke the invincible Dinosaur Combo was simply courting death.
Eiji spread the Pterosaur wings on his back and unleashed freezing currents that sealed the entire area in ice. Kazrai immediately slowed down. Yet it reacted swiftly, releasing intense light carrying extreme heat to melt the solid ice on the ground. But it was already too late—Eiji had locked onto it.
The skirts on either side of the Rider merged into a massive Tyrannosaurus tail. With a turn of his body, the enormous tail lashed directly into the Kazrai that had failed to dodge, violently sending it flying.
Before Kazrai could even hit the ground, Eiji activated the Triceratops horn armaments on his shoulders, "Wind Stinger." The yellow horns rapidly extended at the wearer's command and struck Kazrai dead-on, blasting it away again in midair.
It was not over yet. Berserk Eiji switched the Dinosaur Axe to gun mode, then took out six more Core Medals and shoved them into the magazine. Xing, watching from afar, was dumbfounded. He remembered that in the TV series, only regular Medals could be loaded in... Then again, it never said Core Medals could not be loaded.
Flaming explosive rounds fired from the gun and struck Kazrai, which was still tracing a parabolic arc through the air. It cried out miserably before being blasted away once more.
The yellow horns extended again, this time piercing straight through it before retracting and dragging it before OOO. OOO coldly scanned the Medals once more and activated his finisher.
"Scanning Charge! (Energy Charge)"
Even more powerful freezing currents surged from both wings, turning Kazrai into a lifelike ice sculpture. OOO flapped his wings and carried it high into the sky before retracting the horns. The frozen Kazrai fell toward the ground under gravity's pull, only for a massive dragon tail carrying boundless force to smash into it. It shattered Kazrai and the ice sculpture into countless pieces, which crashed onto the ground and broke into fragments.
A yellow Lion Medal quietly rolled out from the debris, attempting to slip away. OOO descended from the sky and used the Dinosaur Axe to crush it completely.
After finishing all that, he turned his savage gaze toward the four people spectating from afar. Hm? Wait, shouldn't there have been six people? Where had Xing and Yae Sakura gone?
"Ninja Art: Thunder God Flash Step!" The world turned pitch-black, and his movements became incomparably sluggish.
Xing, in Nightshade Heavy Mist form, activated Time Fracture, turned Eiji's belt back to standby mode, then removed it and forcibly canceled his transformation. "Good work, Mr. Eiji." Xing carried the exhausted Eiji, who had collapsed from overexertion. After having the others gather the dropped Core Medals, they returned to the shelter.
Uva and Kazrai had exited the stage. Remaining Greeed: Mezuru, Gameru.
Rita was extremely embarrassed. They had agreed that she would deal with Kazrai, yet both of them had been taken down by Xing and the others. To a maid, that was an unforgivable dereliction of duty.
Xing, having returned to Kallen's form, comforted the maid. "Don't worry about it. At least the outcome was good. Oh, right—give me Black Abyss White Flower. I need to treat Mr. Eiji. Once he recovers his stamina, we can attack the tower and rescue Durandal."
Otto held up a glass of red wine and poured one for her as well. "A truly excellent result. I was right about you, Miss K. If you join Schicksal, I will certainly appoint you as Schicksal's sixth S-Rank Valkyrie."
PS: Schicksal's five S-Rank Valkyries were Theresa, Fu Hua, Rita, Durandal, and Li Sushang. (The order here does not represent their strength, but rather their release order.)
Xing wisely did not accept the wineglass. "I appreciate the offer, but I have no plans to change jobs for now. (I'm already part of Schicksal. What job would I even be changing?)" That was true. Although he had withdrawn from St. Freya Academy, his records had not been deleted. If the Gem of Stillness and Gem of Desire ever disappeared, Theresa could bring him and Wendy back at any time.
Otto looked deeply regretful. He glanced around and asked in confusion, "Strange. Where is that Fox Lady who is always glued to your side?"
"You mean Sakura? She isn't here right now." Xing desperately held down Yae Sakura, who wanted to rush out of the Stigmata Space and chop off Otto's dog head. "Calm down, Sakura. Don't stoop to his level. Besides, this is only one of his bodies. You can't kill him!"
Holding Black Abyss White Flower, Xing turned and left the temporary conference room. Eiji was not the only one who needed treatment; the Fire Moth team did as well. If the Honkai Energy erosion on their bodies was not removed promptly, it would affect their next battle.
Otto suddenly called out to her. "Miss K, please wait."
Xing turned around, a little nervous. What was this old schemer planning?
Otto took out a box. "Miss K seems to have worn only this one outfit all this time. I have a set of clothes here that is guaranteed to suit you." The man's eyes were filled with anticipation.
Xing looked at him and could not bear to refuse. She accepted it and opened it, revealing a purple dress and a Violet Iris Mask.
You have officially unlocked Kallen Fantasy of the Sixth Night.
The moment she saw them, a memory surfaced in her mind. It was the story of an innocent Saintess who had tried to defy a dark reality. At the end of the story, the Saintess, realizing her own helplessness, bid farewell to her friend and left alone with a black box that sealed the Herrscher of Erosion.
Thud! The box fell to the ground. Xing clutched her head in agony as this memory and the memories of Kallen she had received before erupted together, battering his/her mind. For a moment, he/she could barely distinguish whether he/she was that Saintess or the transmigrator who had barged into this world.
Otto stepped forward and embraced her. "What's wrong?" The bewildered girl raised her head, and her clear blue eyes made his heart tremble. This feeling... it was exactly like her. "Kallen?" For some reason, the man spoke that name.
The girl's lips trembled. "Otto?" That familiar voice nearly made him believe that the beauty in his arms truly was her.
(The degree of fusion with Kallen's personality fragment has deepened here.)
The chaos in his mind gradually returned to normal. Xing pushed Otto away, picked up the box containing the Violet Iris Dress, and rushed out of the conference room, leaving the man standing there in a daze.
Rita, who had watched the entire spectacle unfold, felt as though she had seen something she should not have. I won't be silenced by Lord Bishop, will I? The maid felt uneasy.
Xing locked himself in a dim room and returned to his normal form, replaying the scene from before over and over in his mind. "What was that just now?" He held his forehead as he processed the newly acquired memories. In a haze, his consciousness seemed to sink into a silent space.
In the endless darkness, he fell into a lake. His heavy body kept sinking through the water. He struggled with all his might, but it was futile, and he gradually stopped moving.
A golden chain passed through the lakewater, caught his hand, and pulled him out. The boy greedily gulped down fresh air, only recovering after quite some time. Kallen, dressed in a white uniform, gently patted his back and helped him cough out the water.
After coming back to his senses, Xing asked Kallen, "Where is this?"
"This is your inner world," she answered.
"My... inner world?" Xing turned around and saw that the surface of the lake he had fallen into was constantly churning, while the black lakebed beneath was utterly lightless.
Kallen explained, "Your heart is too chaotic. Your desire to become stronger quickly, your worries over future challenges, the fear of narrowly escaping death, the concern that your friends might be hurt—these complicated emotions have kept your heart from ever calming down. In this state, let alone cultivating Taixu Sword Qi, you cannot even properly receive my inheritance."
Xing did not understand. "Your inheritance? What do you mean?"
Kallen's gaze was extremely complicated. "Where should I begin? The me you see now is not the real Kallen Kaslana, but an aggregate of the personality fragments she left behind in the Kaslana Family's Stigmata Space. I was originally sleeping within that space, waiting for a descendant of the Kaslana Family to visit. But one day, I felt my connection to the original body return. That should have been impossible, because I knew very well that she was already dead."
Kallen looked at him in confusion. "But the stigmata's senses cannot be wrong. The stigmata consciousness detected this anomaly, took a part of me, attached itself to it, and used my connection to observe that target—a little boy with a stigmata that shared Kallen's origin, yet was even purer. That boy was you."
The Saintess placed a hand on his head and gently stroked it. "You brought me both surprise and delight. I decided to nurture you as my successor, so I sent my lingering echo into you through the stigmata connection, allowing you to gain my combat experience and insights. At the same time, it was so that you could obtain Kallen Kaslana's relics. Do you remember Judah? Why do you think it was so affectionate toward you?"
Xing felt that this was far too much information to process at once. "I see... Then I really should thank you properly. No wonder those memories kept surfacing in my mind. Wait, then what was that strange feeling? Why would I...?"
Kallen's eyes suddenly shifted away. She hesitated before speaking. "That is because I did not anticipate the effects of forcibly adding another person's memories to you."
"Effects?"
"If it were only combat experience, it would be fine; it would not burden you. But for some reason, I cannot control the personality fragments being transmitted to you. All of Kallen's memories from her life are gradually entering your mind—her growth, her feelings, her regrets. They will impact your original personality. If your will falters, you may be assimilated by those memories and become 'Kallen' completely. So remember this at all times: you are not Kallen Kaslana. You are Xing."
Under the treatment of Black Abyss White Flower, the aftereffects of using Union were greatly reduced. Eiji wolfed down food to replenish his energy and prepare for the coming battle.
Xing considered how to bring Kiana and the others along. This time, it would not be easy to distract Rita. Bringing them directly would inevitably arouse suspicion. If only she could use Mortal Tribulation Difficult to Cross to create illusions as well.
Wait, did creating illusions require the Key of Consciousness?
Some time later, Xing, Eiji, Rita, and the Immortal Blades stood ready at the shelter entrance. Eiji looked at Xing in surprise. "Miss K, your phantom thief outfit looks so cool!"
Rita glanced at Otto, who looked positively radiant. For the sake of her salary and the Immortal Blades' budget, she decided it was better to say less.
Xing spoke to Otto in an even tone. "Lord Bishop, there is something I have wanted to ask for a long time. Schicksal has so many mechs and missiles, so why have none been transported here these past few days?"
The Lord Bishop explained with frustration, "If I could have called them in, I would have done so long ago. An invisible barrier has cut off New Zealand from the outside world. Signals can still pass through, but objects from outside cannot enter. In other words, all we can rely on now is ourselves."
"I understand." The girl said no more, and the group set off toward the tower.
The team composition was as follows: (?)
Xing Kaslana, whose Stand was called Bonded Weaponry. Its ability was to turn companions into weapons.
Otto Apollyon, whose Stand was called Void Archives. Its ability was to use imitation Divine Keys.
Rita Rossweisse, whose Stand was called Silver Moon. Its ability was freezing.
Yae Sakura, who had no Stand. Her ability was cuckolding Otto.
The hidden Fire Moth squad, Wendy, and the Immortal Blades squad were omitted here.
The Schicksal Save Goose Squad, move out!
There was one day left until Durandal was completely controlled by King OOO.
Raven stood near the tower with an unwilling expression as Jackal's order came through her earpiece. "Natasha, hurry up and investigate how it appeared, and what materials it is made of. You will be handsomely rewarded afterward~"
Raven's right eyelid twitched wildly, but under the pressure of her superior, she still chose to enter. The moment I run into danger, I'll use the chance to escape. Staying alive is what matters most. That was what Raven thought.
Author's Note—
Rest assured, Xing would not truly become Kallen and offer herself to Otto. At most, she would mess with him from time to time.
I mainly wanted to use Kallen's personality fragments, with Xing as the medium, to let the Lord Bishop receive as much comfort as possible before he set off, while also taking off his green hat.
After all, pitiful people must have something hateful about them. Otto had lived for five hundred years, yet his determination to resurrect Kallen had never changed. Compare that with the old bug from the neighboring Moon Theater—five hundred years had forcibly turned an ally of justice into an old pervert.
