Hiding within Qian Renxue's Guardian Sanctuary, Li Tianlan asked curiously, "Why did we stop?"
"Simple... there's no way forward!" Qian Renxue pointed ahead.
Li Tianlan froze. Before them lay an incredibly steep valley.
The only passage was a bronze gate over thirty meters tall!
Several corpses stood silently before the bronze gate. No, more accurately—they were zombies!
The corpses wore iron armor. After who knew how many years, it had become mottled with rust.
It was tattered and riddled with holes.
Yet these corpses had neither rotted nor decayed. Their skin was shriveled and dark, their nails long, and a faint glow shone from their blue-green eyes.
"Kid, be careful. Those things should be alive!" Xiao Yan warned. "Watch their claws. They might be highly poisonous!"
"I can see that, Teacher." Li Tianlan nodded slightly.
He could clearly see the long bluish-gray claws on the zombies' hands. They were pitch-black and obviously poisonous.
Qian Renxue's hair stood on end. Goosebumps covered her arms and neck.
No matter how strong her nerves were, she was still a thirteen- or fourteen-year-old girl. Seeing something like this still made her skin crawl.
"Don't rush into a fight yet."
Li Tianlan stroked his chin and glanced at the zombies again. An idea suddenly came to him.
He said to Qian Renxue, "How about this? You two hide to the side first. I'll lure these zombies away!"
"Ah!" Qian Renxue was stunned and asked worriedly, "Won't that be dangerous?"
"Don't worry. I'm confident I can handle this much." Li Tianlan smiled faintly.
Then he rushed out, leaping to a spot twenty or thirty meters from the zombies. He formed a thumb-sized Buddha's Fury Lotus Flame and tossed it over.
Boom!
Though only thumb-sized, the Buddha's Fury Lotus Flame was no weaker than a grenade.
