And he was clearly an experienced one.
Tang San merely glanced at him before withdrawing his gaze and lowering his head to look at the menu on the table.
However, the middle-aged man noticed him.
"Little brother, alone?" the middle-aged man asked with a hearty smile. "Judging by your appearance, you just came out of the Star Dou Great Forest, didn't you?"
Tang San raised his head and nodded expressionlessly.
The middle-aged man did not mind his indifference and continued on his own. "When I was young, I often went into the mountains to hunt soul beasts too. Back then, I looked far worse than you do now. At your age, being able to come out of the Star Dou Great Forest alone is no simple feat."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over Tang San as a trace of surprise flashed through his eyes. "Level fifty? Little brother, your talent is incredible."
Tang San did not respond.
Yet the middle-aged man became even more enthusiastic. He waved over the waiter and pointed at Tang San's table. "Put this little brother's bill on my tab."
Tang San was slightly startled and looked up at him.
The middle-aged man smiled. "Don't overthink it. I just like the look of you. When I was young, if someone had treated me to a meal, I would've been happy for three days."
Tang San fell silent for a moment before saying quietly, "Thank you."
The middle-aged man waved his hand, ordered several more dishes, and began eating by himself.
Tang San looked at the extra dishes before him, a complicated feeling rising in his heart.
This stranger was showing him kindness for no reason.
Was it because he admired his talent? Or did he have some other motive?
He remembered what his father had once
