Background / History
The Qishan Ye Family is one of the three great families of the Qishan region and a behemoth of the Human Race. Its heritage has endured for tens of millions of years, and its direct Ye-surnamed membership alone numbers in the hundreds of millions; this excludes collateral lines, scattered branches, and blood-related families across the Ancient Barrens Continent. 1267
Its members are divided broadly between the Main Family, Branch Families, scattered descendants, and affiliated forces. The family accepts descendants who return from outside its territory—including illegitimate children and those whose lineage has been lost—because their bloodline and potential are considered assets to the clan. 1267 1268
Ye Xiwen returned to Qishan to investigate his origins with the jade pendant left by Ye Junshan. The Ancestor Worship Hall verified his blood through vital blood and a crystal ball, recorded him as a descendant of the Fallen Leaf City branch, and formally entered him into the family registry. 1270 1271
Ye Junhai later revealed that Ye Xiwen's paternal line had originally belonged to the Main Family. After Ye Junshan was accused of colluding with the Demon Race and supposedly died at the Demon Realm Passage, Ye Junhai and Ye Junyan were implicated, expelled from the Main Family, and demoted to the Fallen Leaf City branch. 1370
The family later rose in status through Ye Xiwen's accomplishments. By the era of the Ancient Barrens' submission, it had become the Human Race's fifth major Royal Clan and was increasingly regarded as the foremost Royal Clan of its age. 2439
Organization and Customs
Lineage and recognition
- The Ancestor Worship Hall verifies returning descendants through their vital blood and records confirmed members in the family tree. 1270 1271
- The family holds a grand Ancestor Worship Ceremony once every hundred years, drawing representatives from branches across the continent and observers from other major powers. 1268 1305
- Branches are assigned status according to their strength and importance; prominent branches may reside nearer Welcoming City's center, while weaker branches are placed in its outer districts. 1277
- Bloodline takes precedence over legitimacy. Scattered descendants and illegitimate children may rejoin the clan and receive its benefits once their origins are verified. 1267 1268
Governance and institutions
| Institution / position | Function |
|---|---|
| Family Head | The clan's most visible supreme authority; addressed as “Family Head” by the Main Family and “Clan Head” by branch members. 1307 |
| Elder Council | The highest authority in the family, composed of experts above the Celestial Realm Seventh Stage. It can check the Family Head's authority and convenes for matters affecting the clan's survival. 1812 |
| Law Enforcement Hall | Enforces family law, recruits talented disciples, grants resources and protection, and operates branches throughout Ye territory. 1279 1292 |
| Clan Affairs Hall | An older, highly authoritative body responsible for disputes and crimes involving clan relatives; much of its practical role was later overtaken by the Law Enforcement Hall. 1653 |
| Law Enforcement Heavenly Prison | A dangerous prison and cultivation ground for serious offenders. Wardens oversee its cities and prevent prisoners from organizing into factions. 1336 |
| Five Overlords | The five foremost young-generation figures, supported with exceptional resources and influence. The Central Overlord is traditionally the strongest among them. 1420 1699 |
Cultivation policy
- The Ye Family promotes talent and merit, directing greater resources toward disciples who distinguish themselves. This system is credited with preserving the clan's prosperity. 1328
- Powerful institutions recruit outstanding Main Family and branch disciples, offering additional resources, benefits, and political protection. 1279
- Heaven Rank martial arts are restricted; disciples generally require Ye Family Contribution Points to obtain techniques from the clan library. 1295
- A small number of exceptional geniuses receive intensive cultivation focused on knowledge, insight, and comprehension rather than merely accumulating resources. 1436
- The family also recruits external experts with Ye blood through maternal descent, as well as gifted members of long-affiliated families. Such recruits may receive treatment comparable to Main Family disciples. 1437 1438
Territories and Resources
- Qishan — The family's central territory, rich in spiritual energy and resources. 1269
- Welcoming Guest City — Entry city for branch representatives, affiliated forces, and descendants seeking to recognize their ancestors. 1270
- Ancestor Worship Hall — Registry and verification site for returning bloodline descendants. 1270 1271
- First Secret Realm — A cultivation realm that has nurtured many Ye Family prodigies, including the Family Head. 1437
- Demon Realm Passage — A vast rift into the Demon Realm that the Ye Family has suppressed for billions of years; more than half of its powerful experts serve on this front. 1546
Internal Divisions
The family's size produces competing interests and uneven loyalties. Some Main Family bloodline purists regard scattered descendants and outsiders as inherently less trustworthy, arguing that those raised beyond Ye Family cultivation cannot be expected to feel deep allegiance to it. 1317 1318
This prejudice affected Ye Xiwen after his return. Although his achievements won him resources and Law Enforcement Hall protection, the Clan Affairs Hall later targeted him over accusations that Ye Junshan had betrayed both the family and the Human Race. 1292 1658 1659
The conflict between the Law Enforcement Hall and Clan Affairs Hall became especially visible after Ye Xiwen defeated Ye Xinghe, the Eastern Overlord. The Law Enforcement Hall detained Ye Xinghe, while the Clan Affairs Hall demanded his release. 1706
Relations
- Ye Xiwen — Verified descendant of the Fallen Leaf City branch; became a major prodigy, Law Enforcement Hall member, and later a foundational figure in the family's rise. 1271 1292 2439
- Ye Junshan — Ye Xiwen's biological father; formerly a renowned Main Family genius whose alleged Demon Race collusion led to his branch's demotion. 1370 2825
- Ye Zhentian — Law Enforcement Hall Master and Ye Xiwen's master; defended Ye Xiwen against external pressure and arranged his cultivation guidance. 1292 1436
- Ye Fan — Branch representative who guided Ye Xiwen during his return to Qishan; later became Family Head during a period of vacant high-ranking positions. 1268 1973
- Ye Qiong — Southern Overlord and leading young expert; managed major family affairs, including the expedition supporting Heavenly Rain Palace. 1420 1522
- Wang Family — Longstanding rival clan. Their competition extends from royal-court positions to blessed lands, secret realms, and influence over subordinate forces. 1486
- Heavenly Rain Palace — A strategically important force influenced by the Ye Family, including Vice Palace Lord Ye Jin; it served as a contested bridgehead against Wang Family expansion. 1525 1536

Law Enforcement Hall and family tournament
After the Jia Gu Family demanded Ye Xiwen's surrender, Ye Xue recruited him into the Law Enforcement Hall for its resources and protection. Ye Xiwen later won the Ye Family martial arts tournament, receiving training resources on par with Ye Xukong, the Child of God. 1292 1328
Conflict in the Law Enforcement Heavenly Prison
Ye Xiwen entered the Law Enforcement Heavenly Prison as a cultivation opportunity and became involved in operations against Ye Shao, a former Ye Family genius who murdered clan disciples for Spirit Crystals. Martial Dao Tablet inheritance

Elder Council dispute
When the Elder Council demanded that Ye Xiwen surrender the Kun Peng for the family's benefit, he refused on the grounds that it had already recognized him as its master. Ye Zhentian silently supported his decision. 1812
