Should he slip away?
Gu You gazed at the gigantic monster in the distance and fell into deep thought. Should he bear the Butterfly Effect he had caused?
Perhaps, if he had never existed, this accident would not have happened.
"Cycles of cause and effect. Even if I wanted to run, I couldn't escape." Gu You shook his head, then leaped into the distance.
"General, a message has arrived from the Skyward Eye. Please take a look." A young soldier handed over a tiny card.
Soul Power surged in Qiong Shiyu's left hand, and the card floated gently into the air. Lines of encrypted letters appeared before him, and the shock in Qiong Shiyu's eyes grew increasingly apparent.
"General, did something happen?" the soldier asked carefully.
"Assemble the Sixth Mech Regiment. Come with me..." Qiong Shiyu vanished from where he stood.
The young soldier froze. The general was a Super Douluo with a complete set of Three-Word Battle Armor. At full power, he possessed the strength of a Limit Douluo. Why was he so anxious? Why did he need to assemble the Sixth Mech Regiment? The regiment alone had one Titled Douluo and seven Soul Douluos.
"Something major really has happened." The soldier did not linger and hurried away.
"Captain, we got through! We got through!! Soon, there'll be..." Before the person on the other end could finish, Jiang Xing heard a ripping sound, like something tearing through a mass of flesh.
"Damn it!" Jiang Xing slapped his legs helplessly. Once they lost the suppressing firepower, even if their three Soul Douluos could stall for some time, the chance of even one person from the entire team surviving was practically zero.
Still, he had heard hope. They had gotten through...
They had to hold on.
Jiang Xing screamed inwardly.
"Insects! Insects! What meaning is there in resisting?" the Evil God roared. A gigantic vortex formed in the sky, and streams of black flames crashed onto the ground.
The flames were then surrounded by vines, forming black-eyed monsters one after another.
"Kill!" the Evil God ordered.
Countless monsters surged forward and charged at the Mech Vanguard.
"All or nothing!" A Soul Douluo piloted his Mecha, gripping a spear in both hands. Continuous light fire support streamed from behind the Mecha as he held back the monsters alone, preventing them from advancing even an inch.
But what was the point of doing that?
"Captain... tell me the truth. Can we still get out alive?" A weak voice came through the communicator.
"We can! Why wouldn't we?" Jiang Xing encouraged them, though he knew the truth himself. Could they really escape alive?
"Everyone... should know, right? Even if we escape, what would we have left? We might as well... burn our lives."
"What did you say?" Jiang Xing asked in disbelief.
"I said... burn our lives!!" A Mecha shot out from the formation, carrying three tons of missile explosives. Inside was a Soul King. He detonated himself against the monster's leg, leaving behind a pile of scrap metal.
A crack was blasted open in the Evil God's lower leg, but it quickly fused shut again.
Everyone was stirred by the sight. That was right. Against a monster that called herself a god, one whose strength might already have reached that of a Limit Douluo, what could they use to fight? There was only one thing: their lives!!
Life was tiny, but its greatness was beyond description. You, Evil God, looked down on life, believing yourself high above all else. You toyed with us like ants instead of killing us outright. Then you were wrong! Terribly wrong!!
No one could consider life insignificant, and no one had the right to command it.
"You see us as insects, but you have to admit that insects have never truly been exterminated."
One Mecha after another soared into the sky. They burned their lives.
"You all!" Fear appeared in the Evil God's eyes. No matter how powerful her regenerative abilities were, there were too many explosions happening too quickly for her to repair herself at once.
"Good thing I wasn't too late." Gu You stood atop a tall building and touched his chest. "Go!" Countless glimmers spilled from his mind and rained densely onto the ground below.
Soul Beasts! Dense masses of Soul Beasts!!
There were more than a hundred of them, their cultivation levels all over the place.
"You woke this king up. What happened? Eh! Why am I out here?" The Ice Emperor Scorpion looked around, then jumped in shock upon seeing the enormous monster.
Jiji Ba was unfamiliar with its surroundings. A small purple scale sat atop its head, its entire body tense as it roared at the Evil God in the distance.
"What the hell?" Jiang Xing froze. What was he seeing? So many Soul Beasts had suddenly emerged from a human teenager's mind. He knew Soul Spirits could appear in real-world combat, but surely these could not all be that boy's Soul Spirits?
"So it was you! You stole my treasured collection." The Evil God stared at Gu You.
"Pah, pah, pah! Who's your collection? Little ones, get her!!" Before Gu You could speak, the Ice Emperor Scorpion became enraged. Calling it a collectible meant there would definitely be consequences.
Gu You did not stop them. These Soul Beasts could not truly die. He had researched it; as long as they were injured or struck, they would instantly return to his mind. It could be understood as cost-free expendables.
"Arrogant!" A strange magic circle appeared behind the Evil God. Power gathered within it continuously before finally bursting forth toward Gu You.
"You monster who calls yourself a god, let me show you! What a true Divine Skill is!!"
A Divine Wheel began floating behind Gu You, while three Soul Rings slowly rose around him.
The Divine Wheel glimmered faintly, and an immense aura spread into the surroundings.
Annihilation!
The designated target's all-around attributes decreased by fifty percent, skill power decreased by twenty percent, while the user recovered an equivalent percentage of Soul Power.
A Divine Skill! It was simply bugged. What did a fifty percent reduction at the same level mean? It practically made him invincible.
The surrounding auras fell into complete chaos. Gu You's entire body was covered by his Martial Soul. The Dragon Scales on his hands spread slightly, then snapped shut. His Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring lit up—the second Soul Skill it granted.
Dragon God's Wrath!
An enormous Destruction Ball continuously gathered within the dragon phantom behind Gu You. The Ice and Snow Domain spread out as well, with traces of extreme ice power mixed into the Destruction Ball.
Go!
The destructive sphere collided with the beam of light, and the shockwave from their collision engulfed everything around them.
Jiang Xing's vision was obscured by the domain. He was too shocked for words. A Soul Elder with a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring as his third ring, and possibly even dual domain skills—what family had produced such a genius? Why had he never heard of him before?
"Captain, what should we do now?" the few remaining people asked through the communicator.
"What do we do?! Of course we fight! Are you planning to let a three-ringed child save us?" Jiang Xing roared. He still had a trump card: a Level Eight Fixed Soul Cannon Shell, a specialized destruction-class weapon equivalent to a Level Nine Fixed Soul Cannon Shell. Its explosion could directly destroy an entire city and raise a mushroom cloud a thousand meters high—the full-force strike of a Super Douluo. This was not like the Level Nine Fixed Soul Cannon Shells from the second era, which could not even kill a few Soul Emperors and Soul Sages. After years of development, bombs of every attribute existed now. In short, times had changed.
