Background / History

During the Second Great Ninja War, Tsunade’s role as a medical ninja among the Sannin was formally recognized by Konoha’s higher-ups. Her example was used to justify the later convention of assigning a female medical ninja to three-person teams, on the grounds that medical support improved survival and mission completion rates. 10

As the remaining woman described as inheriting the Senju clan’s talent, Tsunade possessed an unusually secure political position in Konoha.
