Team Seven and medical training

Sakura begins as a Team Seven genin who doubts whether she is suited to be a ninja, feeling that Naruto and Sasuke always take the lead whenever danger arises. Naruto reminds her that she ranked third in the Academy and encourages her to pursue a specialty suited to her precise chakra control: Medical Ninjutsu. 24

During Team Seven's confrontation with Zabuza, Sakura is overwhelmed by killing intent and relies on Naruto's direction alongside Sasuke. The incident makes both of her teammates reassess Naruto's concealed ability. 21

Kakashi arranges for Sakura to train under Yū, a jōnin medical ninja from Konoha's Golden Generation.
