Background
Lin Bao was the tall, sturdy grandson of Great Elder Lin Zhenhong. Favored by his powerful grandfather, he lived in the luxurious Leopard Garden and enjoyed abundant cultivation resources unavailable to most Lin Family disciples 1 9.
Alongside his followers Lin Hu and Lin Lang, he repeatedly bullied the fallen Lin Chen after Lin Chen's meridians became blocked. He popularized the insult “slag” for Lin Chen and attempted to physically punish him in Chapter 1, only to be defeated and forced to retreat in humiliation 1.
Seeking to break through to the Body Tempering Realm Fifth Layer, Lin Bao used a Qi Condensing Pill but failed; the attempt damaged his meridians and left him recuperating in seclusion. He concealed the injury while relying on Crimson Sun Grass to heal and stabilize himself 8 9.
During the Lin Family's preliminary test, Lin Bao publicly displayed his peak Fourth Layer cultivation and expected to crush Lin Chen. Instead, Lin Chen feigned weakness, evaded his Frenzied Leopard Claw, and struck the damaged area of his chest with a single decisive punch 11 13. In the later official test, Lin Bao again challenged Lin Chen and lost his right arm's meridians in the duel 19 21.
Consumed by rage and despair, Lin Bao continued plotting revenge from Leopard Garden. Lin Chen later infiltrated his bedroom, destroyed his dantian, and took his hidden Storage Ring, leaving Lin Bao permanently crippled and igniting a crisis within the Lin Family 24 25 26.
Appearance
Lin Bao was initially described as tall and sturdy, with an arrogant expression befitting his privileged standing in the Lin Family 1.
- Pale complexion and weak, unstable aura after his failed Fifth Layer breakthrough 10.
- Sinister eyes and a habitual expression of contempt toward Lin Chen 10 11.
- After his defeats, he appeared disheveled, bloodshot-eyed, heavily bandaged, and physically broken 23 25.
Personality
Lin Bao was domineering and status-conscious. He considered Lin Chen beneath him, mocked him as “waste” and “slag,” and relied on the Great Elder's influence to bully weaker family members without restraint 1 3.
He was intensely vindictive. Every setback at Lin Chen's hands became another reason for revenge, driving him to threaten, provoke, and attempt to cripple Lin Chen in public duels 10 12 21.
His confidence depended heavily on his cultivation, resources, and family backing. Once overwhelmed by Lin Chen in Leopard Garden, his cruelty gave way to fear and pleas for mercy 25.
Abilities & Skills
Frenzied Leopard Claw
Lin Bao's signature claw technique was a vicious martial skill suited to close-range tearing attacks.
- Produced dense claw shadows capable of shredding clothing and pressuring opponents from multiple angles 13.
- He used its “Tear the Sky” form during the official Family Test 21.
- Its use ended when Lin Chen destroyed the meridians in Lin Bao's right arm 21.
