Background / History

Chang Ye first arrives in Fengcheng with Qianlong Number 88 to investigate the nationwide child-abduction cases connected to Hydra’s Blood Spear Project. Their intervention establishes her as a high-ranking operative working beyond ordinary law-enforcement authority 6.

At Qianlong’s secret prison in Huangni Fan, she identifies that a detained suspect was killed by an exploding brain chip rather than poison. She had already investigated Lin Xiaosu’s background and takes an interest in his unprecedented scent-tracking ability, intending to assess him personally 7.

Using the identity of a Provincial Department officer, Chang Ye recruits Lin to assist with Qu Taiqing’s suspicious death at Qingyuan Temple. Her technology and combat ability expose Ding Haichun as Qu’s Gene Person assassin, while the interrogation of Ding advances Qianlong’s Qingping Plan against foreign sabotage of Great Xia’s genetic research 9 10 11.
