Background

Qing Lin is a rare child born from a human and a Snake Person. Both humans and Snake People regard mixed-bloods like her as cursed, and she grows up enduring scorn because of the green scales on her arm. Before meeting Gu Fang, she hides these scales beneath long sleeves and fears others seeing them 81.

She first meets Gu Fang at an Iron Mercenary Group banquet in Stone Desert City. When her scales are exposed after she faints, she expects disgust; instead, Gu Fang sincerely compliments them and invites her to sit beside him. This acceptance becomes a turning point in her self-image 81.

After Sha Luo publicly insults her mixed heritage, Gu Fang defends her and openly refuses to let her hide her scales. Qing Lin begins to believe that the problem lies not in her bloodline, but in the prejudice of others 82 84.

While Gu Fang refines the armor and halberd given by Sha Luo, a concealed Demonic Soul attempts to possess Qing Lin. Her Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils instinctively suppress it, and the Jade Spirit Armor ultimately chooses her as its master.
