Chapter 22: Is That All You've Got?
Three hits to kill?
To be honest, Wang Tao was also a little surprised.
His own strength had improved, his experience was becoming richer, and his weapon had been enhanced... It wasn't that the enemy was too weak, but that we were too strong!
He didn't have time to check the loot. He quickly looked around, but didn't find any other Zombies.
"Where's the other Zombie?"
Wang Tao frowned slightly. He had heard that there were two Zombies in this room! Zombies don't attack each other, at least Wang Tao hadn't seen it yet.
So, unless that Zombie jumped out the window, it must still be in the house! Wang Tao wasn't in a hurry to look for it. Although he had seemed to simply swing his hammer three times, each swing had used all his strength, which had also taken some effort. Since there was no immediate danger, he could take a breather.
A few seconds later, Wang Tao cautiously went to the bathroom.
This house had the same layout as Wang Tao's, with two bedrooms, one living room, and one bathroom. The doors to both bedrooms were open, but the bathroom door was closed.
Wang Tao felt that there might be something in the bathroom.
He carefully walked to the bathroom door and then kicked it open.
Bang! "Huh? Nothing?"
Seeing the empty space inside, Wang Tao was a little surprised.
After confirming that there was nothing in the bathroom, Wang Tao went to the kitchen, but it was also empty.
Could it be in one of the two bedrooms?
Wang Tao glanced at the doorways of the two bedrooms, but there were no Zombies inside either.
"That's strange..."
He looked at the doors and windows again. They were all tightly closed, and it didn't look like anything had gone out. There were no bloodstains or signs of a fight in the room...
"Did I mishear earlier?"
Wang Tao began to doubt himself, but soon, he put the doubt behind him. He was a person who trusted himself. Two Zombies were two Zombies, and he probably hadn't misheard! "Let me see, where are you..."
Wang Tao took a deep breath and then came to the Second Bedroom.
Inside the Second Bedroom, besides a bed, there was a simple cloth wardrobe. The zipper of the wardrobe was open, so it obviously couldn't hide a Zombie.
He gripped his weapon tightly and lay on the ground.
There was nothing under the bed either.
After confirming that there was nothing in the Second Bedroom, Wang Tao went to the Master Bedroom, but there was nothing under the bed there either.
Then Wang Tao got up and focused his attention on the wardrobe in the Master Bedroom.
The Master Bedroom was much larger than the Second Bedroom. Against the wall was a custom-made row of wardrobes with a dozen doors in total.
This was the only large wardrobe in the entire house that hadn't been searched. Unless the Zombie had really opened the window and jumped out, and then closed the window, or it had been chopped up and flushed down the drain, or it had been eaten by another Zombie. Otherwise... Wang Tao thought it was likely to be in these wardrobes.
"But, this wardrobe isn't that big, and there are partitions in the middle. Would a Zombie really run inside? And even close the wardrobe door? That's so smart?"
Wang Tao was a little puzzled. He gripped his weapon tightly in his right hand and casually pulled open the first cabinet door with his left hand.
"Roar—"
"Holy crap!"
The moment Wang Tao opened the first wardrobe door, a petite Zombie, curled up in the wardrobe, suddenly pounced out.
Wang Tao was taken aback. He subconsciously swung his hammer, but missed.
He was directly knocked to the floor by the Zombie's force, and his weapon flew out of his hand.
[-5] [130/135]
The Zombie's limbs pinned Wang Tao's limbs, making him lie on the bed in a "Too" (tài - spread out) shape, unable to turn over. Then it opened its mouth wide, emitting a rotten stench, and its teeth, still dripping with mucus, were about to bite Wang Tao's neck.
"Get lost!"
Seeing that he was about to have intimate contact with this female Zombie, Wang Tao's forehead veins bulged, his biceps rapidly expanded, and then, enduring the Zombie's strength, he swung his right fist violently.
"Your mouth really stinks!"
Bang! This punch directly and heavily hit the Zombie's face, knocking its head to the side.
[-23] [467/500]
The Zombie seemed a little dazed from the blow, and the strength suppressing Wang Tao lessened quite a bit.
Wang Tao seized the opportunity to raise his right foot, braced it against the Zombie's chest, and then, using both hands and feet, flung it hard towards the doorway.
Bang! The Zombie was directly smashed by Wang Tao against the door frame.
[-4] [463/500]
This attack didn't cause much damage to the Zombie, but it allowed Wang Tao to finally break free from the Zombie's embrace.
Not even bothering to pick up his weapon, Wang Tao stepped to the doorway, then, gathering strength in his right foot, kicked the Zombie, which was lying on the ground and hadn't gotten up yet.
Bang—
This kick sent the Zombie flying across the floor, from the room into the living room, smashing two wooden dining table chairs.
Wang Tao pressed his advantage, suddenly jumping up not far from the Zombie, his hair almost touching the ceiling, and then stomped down hard on the Zombie.
Crack!
Two hiking boots landed on the Zombie's two knees respectively, and a crisp sound of bone cracking was heard.
The Zombie's two knees were directly crushed! The Zombie, which had been preparing to get up, fell to the ground again.
[-86] [377/500]
Wang Tao had originally wanted to stomp on its head, but he wasn't sure if he could crush the Zombie's head. If the Zombie's head was too hard and he fell, it would be troublesome.
So Wang Tao temporarily changed his mind and directly stomped on its legs.
Facts proved that this was effective. The Zombie's Health Bar directly decreased by a section! And that wasn't even the main point; the main point was that the Zombie seemed unable to get up! They had no pain sensation; broken arms and legs would be fatal injuries to ordinary people, but to Zombies, they weren't fatal at all.
But Wang Tao didn't expect this to kill it; he just hoped that breaking its legs would curb the Zombie's movements! Now it seemed that it was indeed effective! Perhaps because the Zombie still retained some human instincts, such as walking on two feet, it was simply unable to get up after its kneecaps were shattered!
This result made Wang Tao a little excited, because it meant that in the future, killing Zombies by first cutting off their limbs might not be a bad method.
After all, the Zombie's limbs weren't as hard as its head, and as for their necks, although they were a weakness, ordinary people might not be able to hit them.
So if the Survivors were smart, they should be able to limit the Zombie's movements by cutting off its legs, and then completely kill it!
Thoughts raced through his mind, but Wang Tao's movements didn't stop.
The Zombie was lying on the ground, unable to get up, basically a sitting duck. Wang Tao wasn't polite, directly stomping down hard twice, deforming its arms.
[-34] [-32] [311/500]
Looking at the Zombie, which had all four limbs broken but was still baring its teeth at him, a cruel smile appeared on Wang Tao's face under the mask.
He had been scared just now.
He had to avenge this! Moreover, taking advantage of this rare opportunity, he wanted to test his damage ability.
"Roar—"
This female Zombie seemed to know its upcoming fate, and immediately let out an angry roar.
Wang Tao cracked his knuckles, and then said viciously, "Keep yelling, it's no use even if you scream your throat out!"
