Inside a two-story teahouse in the bustling market.
The pastries Liu Di had made, called Amber Sweet Potato, had already vanished.
All that remained was a group of old men endlessly sucking their fingers.
And atop the teahouse roof.
A girl in a floral dress sat astride the roof ridge, her knees drawn to her chest as she watched the bustling street in the distance.
A gentle breeze stirred the hem of her skirt and her flowing hair.
Liu Di stood beside her, watching her intently.
Gu Fan was no longer the cheerful girl she had been before. She had become quiet, taking in every blade of grass and tree in T5, no longer speaking.
Liu Di could clearly sense it.
What filled Gu Fan's heart now was a sense of duty—the duty to keep all of T5 peaceful and at ease.
It was an unspoken pressure.
That was why she no longer smiled.

Liu Di suddenly chuckled and pointed at a pair in the distance. On a small stone bridge, a middle-aged man carried a heavy shoulder pole, while a peasant woman carefully helped him keep his balance.
Liu Di said, "Looks like people in the Brain Realm get married too."
"Mm."
Gu Fan nodded and tucked back her windblown hair. "They live together and share the burdens."
Liu Di asked again, "Have you ever thought about getting a boyfriend or something?"
"Never."
Gu Fan frowned slightly. "The years here are too long. No one can stay the same forever. I like looking at every blade of grass and tree in T5, but I don't like seeing people part. Besides, men don't seem all that reliable."
Liu Di turned sideways and looked back at her. "How could that be?"
