Background / History
Gu Fan was Liu Di’s childhood friend; when they meet again in the Brain Realm, she recognizes him as Di Ba and views his actions in the T-Districts as heroic 870. By age twelve, she had already displayed extraordinary mental power, lifting the former Brahma Attendant without physical contact. After Gu Xiao fell into a coma, she studied consciousness-related material and developed her understanding through her innate talent 886 924.
Although she is twenty-six in reality, Gu Fan spent fifty-two years in the Brain Realm, making her lived age seventy-eight by her own count 871. There, she became Luo Shen, the white-clad City Lord responsible for maintaining T5’s peace and prosperity 876 889.
Her later history reveals connections beyond the Brain Realm. Gu Beijiang, the Four-Dimensional Village Chief, is her biological father, while Gu Gu Gu is her grandfather 1033 1130. She is also afflicted with a high-dimensional virus on her wrist, an illness described as originating from at least the seventh dimension and capable of spreading on its own 1134.
Appearance
Gu Fan is most often seen in a flowing white dress, with a composed, ethereal presence that contrasts with her more casual disguises and playful manner 870 876.
- Her eyes are frequently described as curving like crescents when she smiles 870 871.
- In T5, she can disguise herself as an ordinary young woman in a floral dress with a ponytail and deliberately smudged cheeks 874.
- In reality, she may wear a white T-shirt, jeans, and a high ponytail instead of her usual white attire 1558 1575.
- As the Main Saintess, she appears in formal robes and a golden mask 927.
- She can alter her own clothing and appearance through mental power, including changing Liu Di’s clothing as well 874.
Personality
Gu Fan is warm, open-hearted, and attentive to ordinary people. Despite governing T5, she chooses to pull weeds in a wheat field because she values the tangible details of ordinary life, and she personally makes Peach Blossom Cakes for T5’s elderly residents 874 875.
She is patient and intellectually rigorous as a teacher. Her explanations of consciousness, information, and mental power are framed in simple examples—plants, stones, anesthesia, dreams, and artificial intelligence—so that Liu Di can understand them 885 886.
Her calmness is balanced by loneliness and caution. Decades in the Brain Realm have made her wary of relationships and desirous of a dependable companion, while her responsibility toward T5 often keeps her from showing her burdens openly 871 876. She is also playful and mischievous, using substitutes and disguises to tease Liu Di, yet she places profound trust in him when facing danger 928 1562.
Abilities & Skills
Mental Power and Alaya-vijnana
Gu Fan’s mental power is exceptional even by the standards of the Brain Realm. Her understanding of Alaya-vijnana treats consciousness as universal information arising from the interaction of matter and energy 886 924.
- At age twelve, she lifted the former Brahma Attendant without touching him 924.
- She can construct and maintain T5’s scenery in minute detail, including its grass, trees, and broader environment 871.
- She uses mental power to ripen an entire wheat field 874.

- She cleans Little Liu’s oil-stained face and hands without physical washing 953.
- Her Eight-Armed Guanyin manifestation can produce weapons when she prepares for combat 901.
- Her mental power is affected by emotional strain; during the T6 crisis, it begins to spread out of control before Liu Di stabilizes it 891.
Clones, Disguises, and Spatial Manipulation
Gu Fan can produce independent-looking constructs and alter appearances within the Brain Realm.
- She leaves clones of herself and Liu Di in the peach forest to mislead observers while the real pair leaves T5’s hill 874.

- She retrieves a food box through a spatial portal 875.
- She changes her own form between the approachable “ordinary girl” and the white-clad Luo Shen persona 874 876.
Dimensional Perception
Gu Fan possesses abilities associated with higher-dimensional existence.
- She was identified as having Fifth Dimension abilities and can observe the fourth dimension 1125 1130.
- Her mental power was described as capable of applying Fifth Dimension power to the three-dimensional world even in reality 924.
- Xing Yang’s Time Halberd attack erased part of the surrounding landscape but left Gu Fan unharmed; he identified her as a four-dimensional being 1019.
- She enters the Path of Return, an ancestral dimensional maze of wormholes and distorted time 1129.
Teaching
Gu Fan is an experienced teacher in both ordinary life and mental-power practice.
- She works part-time as a kindergarten teacher; her students’ lisp turned “Teacher Xiao Hua” into “Teacher Xiao Fa,” and some call her “Teacher Fa Fa” 885.
- She teaches Liu Di to overcome the Brain Realm’s visual “mosaic,” perceive the consciousness of all things, and develop a freer state of mind 886.
- Her guidance helps Liu Di complete a new state of mind and greatly improve his perception 888.
Saintess Authority
In reality, Gu Fan holds major religious influence as the Main Saintess.

Story Role / Major Arcs
T5 City Lord and Reunion
Gu Fan reunites with Liu Di beneath T5’s peach trees, where their childhood connection quickly develops into a relationship of trust and affection 870 871. While Liu Di is drawn to her warmth, she introduces him to T5’s ordinary residents, takes him on a disguised day trip, and shares the food she prepares herself 874 875.
T5–T6 Conflict
As Luo Shen, Gu Fan bears the responsibility of protecting T5 from T6. When Qing Mu and the Sky-Piercing Giant Ape lead T6’s attack, she prepares to sacrifice herself for her city, while T5’s citizens and Gu Xiao rally behind her 889 890. Liu Di ultimately destroys the source of the threat, allowing T5 to return to peace 892 893.
Saintess in Reality
After returning from the Brain Realm, Gu Fan is revealed as the Main Saintess. She uses a substitute for public religious appearances, recognizes Ye Rou’s ambitions, and later unifies multiple sects under her divine authority 928 931.
Four-Dimensional Village and the Path of Return
Gu Fan’s family history becomes central when Liu Di learns that her father, Gu Beijiang, rejects their relationship because Liu Di originated from the Three-Dimensional World 1033. Gu Fan enters the dangerous Path of Return, but guides Liu Di back to their peach-forest meeting place after he risks entering it to find her 1129.
High-Dimensional Virus
The light on Gu Fan’s wrist is revealed as a high-dimensional virus, prompting fears that contact could spread it 1134. Though the possibility of treatment appears extremely small, she chooses to travel with Liu Di rather than wait passively for a cure 1135.
Higher-Dimensional Separation and Reunion
Gu Fan is summoned to the eleventh-dimensional space by the Supreme 1196. Later, Wen Zhiwu reveals that altered time flow forced her to wait four thousand years for Liu Di, leaving her in tears in the peach blossom forest 1566. They reunite afterward, and Liu Di’s mother openly accepts Gu Fan as his girlfriend 1575.
