Despicable Outsider!

"Anna! My Anna!" At the sight of Anna appearing behind the glass doors, the woman nearly burst into tears. She quickly pushed aside the people blocking her way, wanting to open the doors for them.

No one stopped a mother from wanting to see her child. They made way and even helped the woman open the supermarket doors, letting Li Wei and Anna enter.

"Dad, look, it's that Asian guy. His eyes... Huh? They were clearly red before!"

Timid Billy huddled in his father's arms. When he saw Li Wei enter the supermarket, he immediately recognized the Asian man who had suddenly appeared some time ago. He wanted to tell his father that he really had seen Li Wei's red eyes, only to discover in surprise that Li Wei's eyes were black now!

David pressed down Billy's hand pointing at Li Wei, signaling for him not to speak.

But in the quiet supermarket, Little Billy's voice was far too obvious to hide.

Many people had already been drawn to the Asian man. After hearing Little Billy say that... wasn't this the Asian pedophile who had suddenly appeared yesterday?

"Damn it! Stay away from the children, you pervert!" The Black lawyer Brent's sense of justice flared up. He stepped forward, ready to drag Li Wei away from little angel Anna.

It was a tiny town. The police cars had driven back and forth five or six times yesterday, and nothing like this had ever happened here before. Word had long since spread from person to person.

Almost everyone knew an Asian pedophile had appeared in town. Those with children were even more on guard.

Even the woman who had wanted to thank Li Wei for bringing Anna to the supermarket instinctively pulled Anna away from him.

"Hey, hey, hey! Calm down, buddy. I didn't do anything. Don't start anything—you'll bear the consequences!" Li Wei raised his hands toward the somewhat hotheaded Black lawyer, Brent. If they really came to blows, things would be hard to settle afterward.

And which bastard had spread the rumor that he was a pedophile?!

His gaze swept around before locking onto Billy and David. So it was you two assholes, huh!

"Get away, bad guy! You're not allowed to bully Mr. Demon! Little Bear, go bite him!" Seeing someone trying to bully Mr. Demon, Anna immediately broke free from her mother's grip and shoved the little black bear at Brent.

The little black bear staggered two steps, raised his head to look at the tall, burly Black man, and felt that he would need another year or two before he could beat him. So he scampered back to Li Wei's feet.

The woman was alarmed and pulled Anna back again, scolding the girl, who was making a fierce yet adorable expression. "How can you use bad language!"

"Demon?" Mrs. Carmody, a full-time fortune-teller, caught the key word in Anna's statement. She took two steps forward and pulled out her Old Testament, holding it to her chest. After looking Li Wei up and down, she muttered mysteriously, "Perhaps he should be called the messenger of death. The Lord will descend upon the world, and everyone will die!"

Why was there a lunatic here too?

Li Wei glanced at Carmody, who was talking to herself, then saw Brent standing there dumbly without advancing further. He pointed in a certain direction.

Everyone subconsciously followed his finger and looked at David.

"Sir, you're the one who called the police, right? Can you explain why I was labeled a pedophile?" Li Wei stared at David and asked with an unfriendly gaze.

Suddenly becoming the center of everyone's attention, David swallowed, inexplicably feeling a little nervous. Little Billy, on the other hand, remained as calm as ever.

"Uh, you... Then can you tell me why you appeared in my backyard and crushed Billy's toy car?"

After thinking about it, he realized he truly had no evidence that Li Wei was a pedophile. Billy had never said Li Wei had laid hands on him, either.

So he had trouble answering and instead threw back a question.

Everyone turned their eyes to Li Wei again, wanting an answer.

"I was just passing through. It was an accident, and with so much forest out there, I didn't know it belonged to your family." Li Wei spoke with utter conviction, criticizing David. "Besides, I'm an outsider. Ever since I entered this town, I've felt your deep rejection of me. I'm Asian, too. The damn federal laws give you the right to shoot and kill intruders, and I didn't know whether you'd pull a gun and kill me just because I broke a toy! Walking around in your country, I don't feel safe at all~!"

Everyone's gazes shifted back to David, waiting for him to strike back!

This outsider had actually mocked their laws and community safety. These uneducated people admitted it was true and had no way to refute it, but David was an educated man. Surely he could turn black into white!

David, we support you!

David swallowed. Seeing even Billy looking at him, he knew he could not back down now!

"You could have, at that time..."

"Enough, don't say any more!" Li Wei suddenly interrupted David loudly. Throwing his arms wide, he pointed at himself and admitted, "I know I was in the wrong too, but you should forgive a traveler frightened by a crude system, shouldn't you! I think this gentleman understands me very well!"

Brent nodded deeply in agreement, indicating that he understood and fully agreed.

"I won't hold it against you that the police chased me for so long. I only hope you explain things clearly to the police afterward. Sigh~ Just as I thought, just as I thought~!"

F...uck!

David felt there was nothing particularly wrong with those words, yet he had the urge to beat the other man up!

Why did this anger in his chest feel so stifling?!

Li Wei had already taken the lead in admitting fault. If David did not apologize, he would seem too petty, especially with Billy watching him!

After taking several deep breaths, David finally forced himself to apologize despite his frustration. "I was at fault too. Sorry..."

That apology left even the people around them feeling choked up. They wanted to berate Li Wei, but since he had already admitted his mistake, bringing up the past again would make them seem petty.

There was a pent-up rage in their hearts, and they simply could not let it out!

Li Wei's mouth was nearly crooked from smiling, his expression utterly ridiculous. Seeing David and some of the others looking so aggrieved eased some of his displeasure at being falsely accused.

After David apologized, an eerie silence fell over the area. Their thoughts had briefly stalled, and they all felt as though they had forgotten something?

The sound of the glass doors opening suddenly rang out. A man in a baseball cap walked out of the supermarket while saying to everyone, "All right, I've watched enough of this farce. I'm going home. What monsters are out there? Look, this gentleman is perfectly fine. It's just ordinary mist, right~!"

The man moved swiftly and decisively, as though the courage he had summoned would vanish if he slowed down even a little. After waving at everyone a few times, he walked out of the supermarket.

Li Wei raised a hand, wanting to stop the reckless fool. But the moment he said, "Don't," the man in the baseball cap had already left the three-meter range covered by the scent of slime. A four- or five-meter-tall monster's shadow suddenly emerged from the white mist. It bent down and reached out, its enormous jointed arm grabbing the man and pulling him into the fog.

Then screams that even the glass doors could not block reached everyone's ears, once again terrifying the people who had thought everything was fine. Shouting "shit" and "fuck," they fled from the glass exterior walls.

When the screams gradually faded into the distance, the frightened, shrinking crowd slowly calmed down. They immediately erupted into furious curses and despairing wails.

Mrs. Carmody began preaching her Old Testament theories again, constantly spreading fear.

But some clever people looked toward Li Wei, the only person who had passed through the white mist.
