Supermarket Chaos

David heard Ollie's words and immediately shouted, "Turn off the lights! The monsters are attracted to the light!"

As soon as he spoke, before even a few lights could be turned off, a strange bird smashed a hole through one of the glass panes. Several mosquitoes flew in, and the supermarket instantly descended into chaos as all the lights beneath the glass wall were extinguished.

After a few mosquitoes flew into the supermarket, a strange bird followed through the shattered hole, and cries of alarm and terrified screams filled the air.

The mosquitoes flapped their elytra, buzzing everywhere like tigers entering a cage full of sheep, sending the crowd into a panicked frenzy.

Following the previously established emergency plan, Jim the electrician began leading his apprentices to turn on the high-powered floodlights that had been prepared in advance.

The supermarket became even brighter than before...

"Shoot! Ollie!" Another strange bird landed at the broken glass opening, and David shouted upon seeing it.

Ollie, the champion marksman, called back in distress, "I can't! If I shoot now, I'll shatter the glass!"

With no other options, David grabbed a mop soaked in fuel, hoping to use fire to drive away the strange birds and mosquitoes that had broken into the supermarket.

"Fire! Fire! Fire!" He kept shouting for fire. A man ran over to help light it with a lighter, but at the critical moment, the lighter refused to ignite.

The man named Joe was sweating profusely, frantically flicking the lighter, but he couldn't get the torch to catch.

It wasn't until Amanda, who had just finished off a mosquito with a rake, arrived that she used another igniter to set the mop ablaze.

Grabbing the burning mop, David's face lit up, and he rushed toward the strange bird.

But when he reached the second strange bird, a man was already lying on the ground; it seemed everything was too late.

Looking at the man on the ground with blood gushing from his neck, David wore a look of grief and began striking the strange bird with the burning mop.

The mop, which felt like a divine weapon, hit the strange bird with almost zero effect; the creature was not as afraid of fire as they had imagined!

The burning bird only let out a hoarse cry from its throat, cleverly using its wings to block David's mop.

Amanda, the timely savior, arrived again. She sprayed fuel used for charcoal onto the bird, and as the mop's open flames licked its body, the creature instantly caught fire.

The continuous burn damage finally made the strange bird feel pain, and it began to thrash wildly through the supermarket, flapping its wings.

While things were in a state of chaos over there, an accident occurred on the other side. Joe, the man who had lit another mop, was preparing to duel a monster when he tripped over something, knocking over a metal bucket filled with fuel.

Half a bucket of fuel soaked his body, and as the burning mop fell to the ground, the two combined. A human torch stood up and began to thrash about the supermarket as well.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. Ollie, the only person in the supermarket with a gun, fired and hit the first strange bird that had flown in.

The two sources of fire were incredibly conspicuous, especially the human torch who kept screaming as he burned. The supermarket manager saw the man on fire, cursed under his breath, and shouted, "Fire extinguisher! Get a fire extinguisher!"

White dry powder sprayed from the side of the shelves onto the man on fire. Li Wei walked out holding an extinguisher and shouted at him, "Get on the ground!"

Joe, suffering in agony, collapsed to the floor to receive the baptism of dry powder. Although the flames on his body were extinguished, the pain of the scorching fire still lingered on his skin.

After putting out the fire on Joe, Li Wei walked to the center aisle with the extinguisher and put out the flames burning on the floor.

His auditory system captured a strange sound. He turned his head to the left and saw a strange bird stumbling toward him.

Using thirty percent of his strength, he hurled the extinguisher at the strange bird. The extinguisher, transformed into a high-speed projectile, struck the bird's hideous head the next moment.

The remaining momentum carried the bird backward until it collided with the freezer at the back of the supermarket, producing a sound like an exploding shell.

The strange bird, favored by the extinguisher, collided with the freezer and burst into a spray of blood, splattering Ollie, who had been chasing after it, out of breath.

Ollie was startled by the loud noise, his face covered in blood. He slipped and fell to the ground, a look of pain on his face.

Casually picking up a can from the shelf, Li Wei continued to walk forward. Seeing David still trying to smash the already dead bird with his small stick, he couldn't help but shake his head.

Walking near the checkout counter, he saw Wayne, dressed in military uniform, kneeling on the ground, weeping in grief for his close friend Sally, whose neck was swollen beyond recognition. He shook his head again.

He threw the can in his hand, smashing a mosquito that was trying to fly in through the gap into a pile of green paste.

Several men carried a wooden board over, and under the direction of the supermarket manager, they finally succeeded in plugging the gap.

A mutant mosquito landed on the abdomen of Carmody, who was muttering to herself, causing her to stiffen in fear for a moment.

Feeling the mosquito crawling upward, Carmody gradually revealed a look of relief. She raised her hands and said in a tone of resignation, "My life, my life is given to you, and your wish shall be fulfilled!"

After the large mosquito crawled to Carmody's chest, it flew up again. Its face, which bore a striking resemblance to a human, locked eyes with Carmody for a moment, and then it turned and flew away!

Then, that large mosquito, which hadn't flown far, was smashed to pieces by a can thrown by Li Wei. Green fluid splattered everywhere, splashing all over Carmody's face.

If the body fluids of this mutant mosquito were corrosive, Carmody might have been disfigured by now. The fluids didn't disfigure her, but they did make her collapse to the ground, retching repeatedly.

Li Wei passed by her, using whatever he could grab to eliminate the mosquitoes one by one, without any intention of keeping some for research.

Once he went out tomorrow, he could absorb as many of these things as he wanted; there was no need to worry about quantity.

The sudden chaos lasted about fifteen minutes. The mosquitoes were all eliminated, and the places that had been set on fire were extinguished. People gradually calmed down and gathered together again, though they were clearly divided into different camps.

David and Brent formed one circle, Carmody was followed by a few women who had clearly become her followers, and the remaining majority gathered together to form a loose group.

But they didn't realize the formation of these circles; aside from Carmody, who kept preaching her doctrine to bewitch people, everyone else was only focused on whether they were safe.

After they tidied up the messy supermarket, they lay down again.

But this time, no one could fall asleep...

Li Wei also had no desire to rest. He walked toward the freezer in the back, wanting to find some cola to drink.

Passing aisle six, his peripheral vision caught a familiar-looking woman with short hair holding a small orange bottle and stuffing something into her mouth.

He thought it was just candy or something and didn't pay it any mind, but after he returned with his cola, the woman who had just been "popping candy" was dead...
